"Quite so. There's resentment all over this palace. We might encounter demonic martial spirits here," Vivian added while she roamed around.
In fact, Rocky and Vivian had already sensed the extraordinarily aggressive aura as soon as they stepped inside the crystal palace.
"Really? Why don't I feel anything?" Alex curled her lips. It bothered her that she was the only one who didn't sense the aura, when logically speaking, she was stronger than both of them. She should at least have had an idea.
"Maybe you're just too careless," Rocky uttered teasingly.
"No, I'm not!" Alex shot back like a child, annoyed at the thought.
"The martial spirit must be hidden deep beneath. We'd better be careful. It might come out at any time." Actually, Rocky wasn't completely paying attention to Alex. He was busy trying to look for any kind of clue that could be useful.
"That sounds dangerous!" Realizing the possible danger they might face, Alex felt nervous and forgot about the annoying thing that Rocky said to her earlier.
"For now, let's just keep on checking things out and hope we didn't waste our time coming here," Rocky encouraged.
When they all came to an agreement, the three of them went deep into the dark, dilapidated palace.
Meanwhile after waiting for a few hours, the Lingji Clan had finally met with the teams of the other two clans as soon as they arrived outside the crystal palace.
Elder Ruth wasted no time and discussed with the leaders of the two squads what they could do about the crystal staircase. The other clans willingly accepted the collaboration, where all three high-level Spiritual Emperors from different clans would lead three teams up the staircase and into the entrance of the crystal palace.
About two hours later, they finally reached the entrance at the top.
Since Rocky had already opened the gate when they got here, it saved the three other teams time from trying to figure it out. They rushed into the crystal palace and scattered to look for the treasures.
However, they were welcomed so horrendously with inexplicable attacks. After a day of trying to fend themselves off, about a third of them got killed, while many of them sustained severe injuries. They were losing men, yet they still couldn't figure out what they were fighting.
What frustrated them even more was that they had exhausted all their efforts trying to stay alive and look for any kind of treasure, but they still found nothing. It was all in vain.
In the end, they had no choice but to leave.
While they were on their way out, three figures on the other side of the palace were descending along the underground stairs.
"Whoa! It looks like the people who built this place didn't want anyone to find out about it. How did you discover this passageway, Rookie? You're awesome!" Alex couldn't believe her eyes.
Half a day ago, Rocky, Vivian, and Alex had scoured every corner of the crystal palace for treasures, but to no avail. As if that wasn't enough bad luck, they had also been attacked relentlessly by the mysterious shadow. Fortunately, they had been well prepared, so they all came out safe and sound.
They didn't want to waste any more time here, so they had already planned to leave. On their way back from the depths of the crystal palace, they accidentally stumbled upon a hidden recess they didn't notice before. It took them a moment to figure out where its entrance was.
Although they didn't know where the secret passage led to, the three of them still decided to go through it and find out what was waiting for them.
However, it was longer than they had expected. They had been traversing this passageway for over two hours, yet they still hadn't reached the end. It felt like it stretched out to the ends of the entire crystal palace.
About another hour later, the three of them finally got out of the secret passage and found themselves standing before a closed chamber.
