After Elder Ruth had given the order, a group of Spiritual Kings from the Lingji Clan brought a few spiritual treasures and some precious pills over to the Wankong Clan.
"Elder Ruth, you are extremely kind. However, I cannot accept these gifts!" Alex exclaimed, cupping her hands and smiling courteously at Ruth. It was wonderful to see such a generous gift, but Alex was a humble person and refused to be spoiled.
"Please take them. There's no need for all of this politeness. You deserve them. Without you, I wouldn't be where I'm standing now. Besides, I don't just have you to thank. I owe my life to these two powerful Spiritual Kings beside you too. Thanks to them, our Lingji Clan was able to reach the area under the snow mountain and was lucky enough to obtain a rare holy treasure," Ruth explained, waving her hand nonchalantly.
When they heard what Ruth had said, the crowd filled with excitement. Originally, she had said that the Lingji Clan hadn't gained much on their adventure, but now, she said that she had obtained a rare holy treasure. If only they could get their hands on it!
"If you have the rare holy treasure, your team is very lucky. Why were you being so modest before?" the patriarch asked.
"Because the Lingji Clan's harvest is still very small in comparison to the Wankong Clan's!" Ruth insisted.
"Is that so? Please tell me what the Wankong Clan has found in the valley," the patriarch said, turning to look curiously at Alex.
"Patriarch, we didn't gain much this time either. All we brought back were a few spiritual treasures. Other than that, two Spiritual Kings that were at the peak stage broke through to the Emperor Realm, and three Spiritual Kings that were at the premium stage reached the peak stage," Alex replied calmly.
"Then why did Elder Ruth say that the Lingji Clan's harvest was less than the Wankong Clan's? The Lingji Clan has a rare holy treasure, and you have nothing." The patriarch lowered his eyebrows into a frown. He looked back and forth between the two women, waiting for a better explanation.
"Because our young master has obtained a divine treasure!" Rocky answered in a loud voice. There was no way that he would miss an opportunity to establish the prestige of the Wankong Clan.
Everyone else gasped, including the patriarch and the three elders of the parliament. They shook their heads like they had misheard him.
"Really? You guys got a divine treasure?" the patriarch asked in an interested tone. If it were true, it was great news. No one in the five clans had found a divine treasure since the Ethereal Valley first opened.
The entire spiritual race would benefit if they had a divine treasure.
"Our young master has been working very hard on his training in the Ethereal Valley. We saw it happen. In a very short time, he has managed to break through to a Spiritual Emperor at the peak stage," Rocky announced loud enough for everyone to hear him. He wanted them to all know how great the Wankong Clan was. It would give them a chance to change their fate.
"What? Alex has already broken through to a Spiritual Emperor at the peak stage?"
"That's impossible. Alex was just a Spiritual King at the peak stage. How could he break through to a Spiritual Emperor at the peak stage that fast? I must have heard it wrong!"
"This is beyond belief!"
Another round of gasps and whispers spread over the crowd. No one could believe that Alex had managed to increase her strength that fast.
Abdullah, especially, had been trying very hard to find an opportunity to make a hit, and now, he had realized that he was completely overshadowed by Alex.
But he wouldn't give up. While he might not be able to do anything to hurt Alex, he could grow stronger later. For now, he settled on glaring at Rocky with resentment.
The crowd calmed down very fast. They were surprised, but they had all experienced a lot and gained a good amount.
when Rocky and Vivian flew straight into the air and left the Ethereal Valley.
On their journey back to the Shura Race, Rocky and Vivian met up with Rubygon, and then they planned to head to the human race to pick up Valeria and Gloria.
But when they crossed the Di Clan, Colton flagged them down. He explained that while they had been in the spiritual race, something unexpected had happened.
The war between Enoch and the Shura Race's royal family had broken out early. The king of the Shura Race had been too impatient. He hadn't wanted to fight against Enoch head-on before, but later he suddenly changed his mind and declared war on Enoch.
"Something is strange here. Why would the royal family risk fighting with Enoch? It makes zero sense," Rocky murmured, frowning at the ground.
"When I first heard about it, I thought it was strange too. When the Shura Race's royal family and Enoch start fighting, both sides will suffer losses. It should be favorable for our human race, but there is something fishy about the whole situation!" Colton said, nodding his head.
"That's true. Once the royal family starts a war with Enoch, it will affect the entire Shura Race. There must be a reason for the king's risky declaration of war. I'm going to have to make a trip to the Shura Race as soon as possible to find out what it is," Rocky replied. There was clearly something else going on and he felt responsible for figuring it out.
"You should go right now. Valeria and Gloria will not be ready to come with you yet anyways," Colton said.
"Okay. When they do finish their training, please tell them to go to the Shura Race as soon as possible," Rocky told him.
Colton nodded. Then, Rocky and Vivian turned around and ran to the Shura Race as fast as their feet would carry them.
