The Medallion novel Chapter 1957

Once all the preparations were completed, Gilbert, Rocky, and Vivian led the Ghost Fief's army out of the Red River Valley and headed for the Wind Plain.

The Ghost Fief's army had about twenty thousand troops, while the Wind Plain had about thirty thousand in their garrison. Zain sent the Ghost Fief's army to the Wind Plain, thinking that Gilbert and Rocky had enough firepower to intimidate the Wind Plain's garrison. He figured that once Enoch discovered this, he would be wary of the two and would undoubtedly assign more troops to support the Wind Plain. Thus, Zain thought it was better to send Gilbert and Rocky out than stay in the army. After all, out of sight, out of mind.

Unbeknownst to Zain, Rocky had his fingers all over the pie, and everything was actually under his control. Zain transferred Rocky to attack the Wind Plain, hoping to take him out of the picture, but this decision also became a key turning point in Rocky's plan.

Three days later, Rocky and Gilbert finally arrived at the Wind Plain.

The duo led the Ghost Fief's army deep into the plain, and they encamped three miles away from the Wind Plain's military camp. They also sent spies to scout the terrain and how their opponent had distributed their garrison forces across the plain.

These spies returned a day later and reported everything they had learned.

Once they have heard all the details, Rocky and Gilbert created an operation plan and prepared all the necessary arrangements.

"Leader Gilbert, I'm going to the border to gather our forces now," Rocky told Gilbert once they finished preparing everything.

Gilbert nodded and gave Rocky his leader's token, which he could use to gather the forces at the border.

"Wait, Odin! Let me go with you!" Vivian volunteered.

Gilbert glanced at Vivian in surprise. Honestly, he always felt like his sister and Rocky had a special connection with each other, and recently, they seemed to be getting closer. However, he didn't delve into it too much and let them have their privacy. After all, he knew his sister's personality. She could be obstinate, and he could never stop her from doing something she had set her mind on. Moreover, it wasn't a bad thing, even if his sister and Rocky developed feelings for one another. It always worried him that Rocky had promise, but he was too independent. Now, with his sister in the picture, it would be easier for him to sway the young man.

That was the main reason he turned a blind eye to the progressing relationship between Vivian and Rocky.

Seeing the expression on Gilbert's face, Rocky figured the other man must suspect something, but he held his tongue. He merely gave a small nod.

After that, Rocky and Vivian left the camp and headed for the nearest border to the Wind Plain.

"Your brother looked suspicious of us," Rocky told Vivian bluntly.

"What do you mean?" Vivian asked, looking confused.

"He must suspect that we are in a relationship," Rocky said with raised eyebrows.

"Like hell we are in a relationship! In your dreams!" Vivian fumed, scowling at Rocky.

"Haven't we been spending so much time around each other recently? It's only normal that he would think that way," Rocky answered lightly like he thought nothing of it.

"Humph! Fine! I'll stay away from you from now on." Vivian scoffed disdainfully.

"That won't be necessary. It's better if our leader suspects us of being together rather than the truth. This way, it wouldn't even occur to him that we are oracles. Remember that we can't expose our identities for now," Rocky lectured her seriously.

"By the way, you got my brother to ask Prince Zain for the right to transfer the troops stationed at the border. Why did you do that?" Vivian asked.

"Yes. I'm planning to send a human army to enter the Shura Race's territory." Rocky nodded and confirmed her suspicion.

"Do you mean the human army that attacked the Blood Fief in the past?" Vivian asked.

"Exactly. The truth is that I am their commander in chief!" Rocky confessed. After all, Vivian knew his background very well, and he had nothing to hide from her.

"Ah, no wonder!" From the start, Vivian had always been suspicious of Rocky's true identity, especially when she accompanied him to the Di Clan and saw how close Rocky was to the Di Clan's chief. However, she didn't probe deeper since she figured Rocky would tell her everything in due time.
