Chapter 131: My Husband Is Too Precious

Truthfully, she wanted to.

But time was precious, and they had too much to do.

"I won’t do anything," Edmund promised. "I swear."

Still ... if they stayed like this for too long, what started as hugging might turn into something more.

"Just ... just ten minutes," Primrose said. "We’ll hug for ten minutes. That’s it."

If not, it might become dangerous.

Edmund nodded. "Ten minutes is more than enough."

It was only ten minutes,

But for some reason, to Primrose, it felt like the sweetest eternity.

Edmund kissed her again, on her lips, her cheeks ... Every part of her face received his gentle attention.

He even kissed her neck a few times, but never bit her skin because he knew, if he did that, he might not be able to stop himself anymore.

"I think that’s enough," Primrose whispered.

Edmund kissed her lips one last time, then held her gaze with his own. "I still have one more minute."

There was no way he’d waste even a second.

He gently tilted Primrose’s head, kissing her cheeks again and again, before giving her a final kiss on the lips just as the time ran out.

"I think ..." Primrose finally exhaled the breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding. "... your ten minutes are up."

The spark in Edmund’s eyes slowly dimmed. The corners of his lips dropped slightly, and for a moment, Primrose imagined sad little dog ears drooping over his head, mirroring his disappointment.

[I still want more.]

[When I’m working, ten minutes feels like forever ... but with her, it passes too quickly. That’s not fair.]

Unlike him, Primrose felt like those ten minutes had dragged on forever. Her lips were even slightly swollen now!

Yet despite that, she didn’t want to leave his lap just yet. It was warm, safe, and far too tempting that she almost wanted to toss aside everything she needed to do and stay right here, in his arms, all night.

No! No!

If she gave in now, both of them would regret it later when they had to catch up on work.

She had to stay strong for both their sakes.

"I know," Edmund whispered as his hands tightened slightly around her waist, not enough to hurt, but just enough to keep her from getting up too quickly.

Primrose lowered her head, unable to meet his gaze after kissing him so much.

"Can you let me go now?" she murmured. "I need to return to my room."

At her words, Edmund immediately loosened his hold. "I’m sorry," he said quietly.

Primrose nodded. "It’s alright."

Just as she started to pull away, Edmund suddenly wrapped his arms around her again, hugging her tightly.

He buried his face into the curve of her neck and whispered, "You haven’t given me a good night kiss ... or a hug."

Wasn’t ten minutes of kissing more than enough?!

But ... maybe one more wouldn’t hurt.

Primrose pulled back slightly and cupped his cheeks. "If I give you your good night kiss now, will you let me go after that?"

Edmund nodded quickly. "I will."

"Alright," she said. "But this is the last one, alright?"

She gently lowered her husband’s head, placing a kiss on his forehead, then moved to his cheeks, and finally, gave him three soft kisses on the lips as a reward.

"Good night, husband," she whispered.

That should be enough ... right?

Edmund kissed her once more, murmuring softly, "Good night, my wife."

Primrose quickly turned her face away, heart pounding like a drum.

If she looked into his eyes any longer, she might actually faint.

’He’s too dangerous!’ she thought, panicking inwardly.

’I need to leave right now!’

The moment Edmund loosened his arms from around her waist, Primrose didn’t waste a second.

She quickly got off his lap and even took a few steps back, just to be safe, in case he decided to pull her back again.

"I ... I should go now!" she said awkwardly, then bolted toward the door without waiting for a response. "I’ll see you tomorrow morning!"

She slammed the door behind her the moment the words left her mouth. Outside, Primrose crouched down and buried her face into her knees, letting out a muffled scream.

’Why does my husband have to be so sweet and so hot?!’

How was she supposed to sleep peacefully now, knowing she could’ve asked for more kisses, but instead, she ran away?

SLAP!

She slapped her cheeks, trying to knock herself out of her swirling, very inappropriate thoughts.
