The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 205

Chapter 205: The Queen Is No Longer The Victim

At first, Primrose didn’t quite understand what made Edmund so confident. But when the soldiers dragged Thevan out of the building, she immediately understood.

The man who once looked so high and mighty now seemed nothing more than skin and bones.

Primrose didn’t see any visible wounds on him, perhaps they had already healed thanks to his healing ability, but the empty look in his eyes was enough to show that he’d been through hell.

A heavy iron chain hung around his neck, with soldiers holding its end tightly so he couldn’t move too far. His wrists and ankles were also shackled in thick metal cuffs. One wrong move, and he’d fall flat on the ground.

He had only been in the torture room for three days, but it was enough to strip the fire out of him. He looked like someone who had forgotten how to be alive.

"Sit him down," Edmund ordered firmly.

The soldiers obeyed without hesitation. They shoved him onto a hard, cold chair. He flinched as his body hit the surface and shivered slightly.

Primrose thought he might be too broken to even speak anymore. But the moment his eyes met hers, Thevan suddenly curled his lips into a weak smirk.

"Oh, i-it’s you," he rasped. His voice was dry and hoarse, like he hadn’t had water in days. "The whore I should’ve killed from the start."

Primrose stopped breathing.

Her body froze, and without thinking, she stepped back, slowly retreating until she was behind her husband, hiding behind his tall frame like it was the only shield she had left in the world.

"Watch your mouth." Edmund’s blue eyes were so terrifying that the soldiers didn’t even dare to look at him directly.

His voice was cold as ice when he spoke, "Insult my wife one more time, and I’ll cut your tongue off with pliers again."

[I’ve cut it off more than fifty times, and yet this bastard still dares to speak filth with that mouth.]

Primrose winced slightly when she heard that.

She could picture it clearly, Thevan screaming as Edmund ripped out his tongue, only for it to grow back, again and again.

Someone who went through that kind of torture should’ve been deeply traumatized.

But not Thevan.

Thevan’s eyes might have looked hollow, but his expression didn’t show even a hint of regret.

When Primrose listened to his thoughts, what she found was nothing but hatred and filth.

No—he did feel regret, but not because he hurt her. On the contrary, he regretted not hurting her more.

[I should’ve taken her away faster, locked her up, hidden her from the world, so I could play with her as much as I wanted.]

[Then I could’ve had her all to myself, watched her cry, watched her beg as I shoved my dic—]

Primrose pressed her hands over her ears instinctively, trying to shut him out, but she knew it was useless.

His voice wasn’t coming from outside, it was echoing in her mind, slicing straight through her brain.

She couldn’t stop them, no matter how hard she tried.

"What’s wrong?" Edmund noticed her silence and gently turned to cradle her face in his hands. "Let’s just go back."

"No, I’m fine." Primrose forced herself to swallow the lump in her throat. Her voice trembled only slightly. "You said fifteen minutes, remember? I just need to say a few words to him."

Edmund’s jaw tightened. His whole body looked like it was fighting the urge to drag her out of there that very second, but he held himself back.
