The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 61

Chapter 61: The King Who Touched Her Feet

Primrose stared at him, not knowing whether to laugh, scold him, or hide her face in shame.

The way he looked so serious about blaming himself for something she had clearly caused.

It was both ridiculous and, somehow, strangely sweet.

The mighty Lycan King, feared by everyone, was sitting there blaming himself over a fallen shelf and worrying about her like she was the most fragile thing in the world.

Honestly, it made Primrose’s heart ache just a little.

"Your Majesty, no one is at fault here," Primrose said softly, hoping to ease his guilt and maybe a little of her own for causing the mess. "The bookshelf just happened to fall, and I just happened to be standing there. That’s all. So ... you don’t have to apologize."

[My wife is too kind! She’s even forgiving me when I almost got her crushed!]

But he wasn’t the problem.

The one who tried to "kill" her was the stupid, creaky bookshelf!

"Still, I’m the one who has to take responsibility," Edmund insisted, his voice filled with worry, "since you got hurt inside my room."

With gentle fingers, he carefully took off her shoes, revealing her delicate feet. His eyes immediately noticed the swelling.

Primrose almost rolled her eyes. It wasn’t that surprising. Most of the books on the shelf were massive and heavy, filled with old records and boring politics.

But really? Injured by books?

’What am I? Some helpless damsel from a fairytale?’

"Does it hurt?" Edmund asked as he reached out and lightly touched the swollen area.

Primrose flinched a little. It wasn’t terribly painful, but he had accidentally pressed a bit too hard.

She quickly grabbed his hand to stop him. "Don’t worry, it’s just a bruise. It will fade after I put some ointment on it."

Edmund frowned. "How long will it take to heal?"

Primrose paused, thinking for a moment. "I’m not sure. Maybe two or three days? It’s really nothing serious."

But judging by the way Edmund was staring at her foot like it was the most precious thing in the world, it felt like he thought she had broken a leg, not just bruised it.

[THREE DAYS?!]

[How could I let my wife suffer for three whole days?!]

[What if she can’t sleep because of the pain? Or what if she struggles to walk properly?!]

[No! No! I have to do something!]

Primrose could almost see the panic flashing across Edmund’s face.

What was he thinking of doing?

No way—

"No, it’s fine, Your Majesty!" Primrose quickly grabbed his shoulders just as he began to lower himself, clearly aiming to kiss her feet. "I can endure the pain for three days!"

Sure, she had just washed her feet not too long ago, but still, the idea of the fierce, feared Lycan King kissing someone’s feet was beyond anything she had ever imagined.

Besides, wouldn’t it ruin his dignity?
