The Moon and The Ocean novel Chapter 35

OCEAN'S POV:-

I looked at his grandfather. I recognized him. He came to Moon and pulled him in a bear hug. I was also happy seeing my Moon. He was happy and that was what mattered. But suddenly, the world around me started spinning and then everything went dark.

I opened my eyes again and found myself lying on the dusty ground. I sat up and looked around. It was the darker part of the forest. The same place where I had met my mother. I stood up and found Vixen sitting on the ground as well. I frowned because I knew only one of us could be out at a time. But seeing her out as well made me think if everything was fine.

Ocean: I thought either you would be out or me?

I asked her in a questioning voice. Vixen stood up and shook her head.

Vixen: Now we are never going to be together. Everything is finished. He did that all. He destroyed everything. And we were not able to stop him.

She replied with teary eyes. I patted her head and we both hugged each other.

Ocean: What do you mean? Who did it? Who destroyed everything?

I asked her while my eyes roamed around. I could see the destruction around me. Everything was fully trashed. Like a monster had leveled up the whole forest. The trees were down. The few were standing at their places but they were on fire.

Vixen: Our Moon did that. We were not able to stop him. Valtor was the one who killed us. After that, nobody was able to control Moon. He destroyed everything.

She replied and I quickly broke the hug to look into her eyes.

Ocean: What do you mean by he killed us?

I asked Vixen in a shocked tone. She narrowed her eyes then a few more tears escaped her eyes.

Vixen: Moon, he could not control the monster inside him. He had the bigger demon inside him. We were not able to see that demon. And when the time came, we were not able to control him. You were trying so hard to stop him but in the end, Valtor slit your throat like you were nothing but a goat for him.
