The middle-aged man waved at Anya and strode over. "Anya, are you free tonight? I'd like to invite you to a friend's gathering."
"I'm sorry, but I already have plans tonight." She glanced at Zachary before politely smiling at the middle-aged man and shaking her head.
Only then did the man's gaze finally fall on Zachary, but it was merely a cursory glance.
"Are you going out with this gentleman?" he asked her.
She nodded slightly.
Seeing this, the man smiled and turned to Zachary. "Hello, I'm Cameron Pearce. Nice to meet you."
"Zachary Lloyd," Zachary introduced himself.
Cameron paused momentarily, racking his brain to remember if anyone named Zachary was in the Yel Corporation business circle.
After thinking for a while, he realized he didn't recall anyone by that name, so he smiled and asked, "May I ask where you work, Mr. Lloyd?"
"I'm the deputy manager of the marketing department at Yel Corporation."
"Yel Corporation? Deputy manager? So, you're Anya's subordinate."
A hint of disdain flickered in Cameron's eyes when he heard this.
He had initially thought this rival had some background, but he turned out to be just another high-level employee.
With such a status, Zachary wasn't even qualified to compete with him.
"Something like that," Zachary replied with a calm smile.
"Heh... Since Anya has already made plans with you, I won't interrupt you two any longer."
Cameron showed no interest in continuing the conversation with Zachary. He turned to Anya and said, "Anya, let's reschedule for another day."
