"Molly, that's not what I meant!" Zachary swallowed hard, trying to suppress his rising desires.
Molly replied timidly, "Zac, holding back isn't good for your health!"
"Molly, you're still young, and your future is bright! Don't do anything foolish!"
He took a deep breath, attempting to reason with her.
Although he had spent half a million to "hire" her for a year, he had completely lost any inappropriate thoughts after learning about her tragic past.
He only kept her around to help her as much as he could. But it was clear that she misunderstood his intentions and was now offering herself to him.
"Zac, you are my light!" Molly lifted her gaze and locked eyes with Zachary.
At that moment, his heart skipped a beat.
He saw genuine affection and deep attachment reflected in her eyes.
Yet, the more he saw that look, the less he could act inappropriately.
He managed a bitter smile as his internal turmoil gradually calmed.
"Molly, don't think about that half a million! Just consider it an investment in you. Once you start earning money, you can pay me back!"
"Zac, do you hate me?"
At this, Molly's eyes flickered with uncertainty, and the warmth in her gaze dimmed noticeably.
Zachary quickly reassured her, "Don't say that! You're beautiful and strong. How could I ever hate you?"
"Why can you remain indifferent in this situation?"
She blinked. Her big, watery eyes were filled with confusion and insecurity.
"Is it because my skin isn't as fair as Anya's, or my figure isn't good enough?"
She bit her lip, and tears began to well up in her eyes.
The look of hurt on her face struck Zachary hard.
