“Here’s my proposal.”

Samantha gathered the proposals and stated, “Hang on a second. My-” She hastily corrected herself, “Our CEO will look these over soon.”
Standing beside Emily, Hazel noticed Samantha and asked curiously, “What’s Samantha doing here? Why is she calling Mr. Dean ‘the CEO‘? Is she his assistant or something?”
Emily didn’t reply, but her frustration grew as everyone seemed more interested in Samantha than her. Why does Samantha always have to grab all the attention? Doesn’t she get that it only makes me hate her more? It’s so aggravating!
Emily tightened her hands and muttered, “I have no idea why Samantha’s here.”
Hazel pushed further, “Isn’t you close with Mr. Dean? Don’t you live with him? If he really treats you like family, shouldn’t you know why Samantha’s around?”
Emily rolled her eyes internally. Does Hazel ever stop with the questions? Even Elias, my real brother, doesn’t tell me everything. Now, Finley isn’t even my real brother. This is just too much.
Emily responded, “Hazel, everybody has their own business. Just because Fin treats me like family doesn’t mean he spills all the beans. By the way, you won’t have a shot if you don’t submit your proposal to Samantha.”
Realizing her mistake, Hazel hastily passed her proposal to Samantha. Samantha glanced around and declared, “If there are no more proposals, I’m going in.”
Once confirmed no one else had any proposals to submit, Samantha collected them and went back to the room, setting them in front of Finley and closing the door behind her.
Finley took the first proposal, gave it a brief look, and set it aside. “The Burton Group is out.”
He kept reviewing the proposals but didn’t see one from Noah’s company. He inquired, “Is Hunter Corporation
ot in the running?”
