Finley was candid; jealousy consumed him. He found it unbearable when another man touched his beloved.
Upon hearing Finley’s words, Samantha gently placed her hand on his cheek. “The reason he touched me earlier was that I refused to assist him. I wanted to leave, but he insisted I stay. He grabbed my arm and continued to beg me to convince you to accept his terms. He wanted you to reduce the contract price to 6.6 billion rather than forcing him to pay 50 billion.”
Finley arched an eyebrow. “And what did you say?”
Samantha declined the proposal, obviously. She withdrew her hand and rested her head on Finley’s shoulder. “I didn’t agree.”
“And then he gave up?”
Samantha knew Noah well. He was like an unyielding cockroach, nearly impossible to drive away. The idea that he would give up easily was laughable.
“No, he kept trying to persuade me to help him. But I remained firm. He even went so far as to tell me to threaten you. He said if you didn’t sign the contract for 6.6 billion, I should leave you forever.”
Finley was left speechless. His expression hardened.
“He must have a death wish.”
Samantha laughed softly. “Indeed, he must. You are so wonderful; how could I possibly leave you?”
Finley understood that there were always individuals scheming to drive a wedge between him and Samantha. He would not grant them that satisfaction–not Noah nor anyone else. He wrapped Samantha in his arms, holding her tightly.
“Sam, I will never let you go.”
“Even if you tried to push me away, I would remain by your side. Do you know, Finley? In this lifetime, I’m irrevocably bound to you, and that’s final.”
Edmond watched in silence, overwhelmed by their display of affection. It was almost too sweet to bear.
When Finley completed his work at the company, he chose not to return straight home with Samantha. Since it was a rare occasion for him to be out, he decided to take her shopping at the mall instead.
Women had a love for shopping, didn’t they?

escape.
Since then, Finley had never accompanied her on such outings again.
Reflecting on it now, it was a source of regret for her.
Walking through the shops with Finley once more brought Samantha immense joy. They wandered through the clothing stores hand in hand.
