He refused to accept that fate as he could not accept Nathaniel stealing the woman he loved away. Nathaniel was the one who hurt her in the first place, he was the one who gave up on her, so why did he come back for her again?

“What’s the matter? Do you not recognize me anymore?” Jacob approached Freya before shifting his gaze to Taylor.

Taylor looked upset as he was wearing a thick coat and it seemed as if he was hiding something inside of his coat. Jacob’s expression changed as he expected this before he arrived. He knew that Natthaniel would have asked someone to keep an eye on Freya while he was away. This annoyed Jacob as he knew how powerful Nathaniel was in the city. He knew that keeping a girl confined was an extremely easy thing for him to do.

Taylor followed somewhat closely behind her as he saw her leave the villa. He called out to her, “Ms. Freya!” Taylor did not want to burn his bridge with Jacob since they were friends before.

However, Freya turned around and told Taylor, “I need to have a word with Jacob. You can follow if you feel like it.”

Jacob chuckled and gave Freya a thumbs up when she said that. This annoyed Taylor as he would have never agreed to babysit Freya if he did not owe Nathaniel his life. So, he held back his anger and followed about five to six paces behind them.
