The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret novel Chapter 270

Nathaniel’s jaw tightened as he reached out to check the injury on Frey’s forehead. Unexpectedly, Frey quickly raised her hands to shield her head.

The surprised look on Nathaniel’s face revealed that this was a reflex for her. Even after enduring such severe beatings, she instinctively protected her head at the slightest hint of danger.

His hand froze in mid-air, unsure whether to pull back or continue. Frey, realizing how exaggerated her reaction seemed, slowly lowered her arms and took a step back, moving closer to the door.

Nathaniel bitterly reflected on his actions. His current relationship with Frey felt like trying to tame a wild cat. He had taken her in by force, cared for her meticulously, and finally gained a bit of trust. Yet, after abandoning her once more, she was now reluctant to come near him again.

Frey was visibly flustered by his unpredictable behavior. The silence between them was heavy and uncomfortable. Just as she was about to retreat through the door, Nathaniel lowered his arm, turned, and left without saying a word.

Relieved, Frey sank onto the plush carpet in the living room, exhausted.

The next day, despite her forehead injury, Frey arrived at Andala Corp. Her appearance caused quite a stir, as the video of her being beaten had circulated widely.

Mandy wasted no time. She called Frey into her office and locked the door behind them, then gestured to a nearby lounge. “Ms. Frey, why don’t you rest in here?”

Frey was surprised and smiled at Mandy. It was indeed convenient to be in a company where she had such support.

Mandy made her comfortable, bringing her water, a glass of warmed milk, and some snacks. “Ms. Frey, I’ve arranged for the engineering team to renovate an office just for you. You’ll be able to move in soon. For now, you can handle things in my place.”
