The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret novel Chapter 4

So, suddenly, Freya became an usher instead of a cleaner. She was forced to change into a slim-fitting dress, and it made her look even slimmer.

Yet Nathaniel only asked her to change clothes; her hair was still messy without touch. She lowered her head and stared at the ground, wishing that she could melt into it.

Her body was trembling. It was eleven o'clock in the night for this shift. Supposedly, she should have gotten off work, but she bumped into Nathaniel, and he chose to publicly humiliate her by putting her at the entrance to work.

She not only had arthritis, but she also had a severe gastric problem. She did not manage to have her dinner as it was a hectic night; she planned to cook noodles with Peyton back at the rented house after work.

At that moment, her stomach was cramping. It was so painful that her face turned pale, and she was sweating coldly.

"Freya?" A few well-dressed women walked toward the entrance of Red Shift; they all noticed Freya as she stood out.

The woman leading the group was stunned upon seeing her.

Freya obviously remembered the owner of the voice; she was her best friend, Jolin. She was a rich girl from the Johnson family. But, back then, the Johnson family was not as established as the Rivera, Morgan, and other families, including the Gomez families.

Freya used to be at the top of the chain, so Jolin would definitely be on her side. They were almost the best friends of all.

But, when she was jailed, Jolin was the first to visit Abigail, who was hospitalized, to tell her about this news.

She felt wronged and broken-hearted.

Back then, Jolin ran into a lot of trouble when she was first starting at a film company. Freya was the one who contacted a few investors for her, and now that she was a fairly popular actress,

Jolin was surprised at first, and then she looked at Freya with disdain. She adjusted her sunglasses and looked at Freya's face for a long time. She exclaimed, "Oh! What's wrong with your face?"

She saw her scar being covered by her hair, and she used her hand to lift her face.

Freya wanted to back off subconsciously.

Jolin's face darkened. She had always hated Freya; she was always the center of attention, and she was always her sidekick.

Freya excelled in her studies; she was pretty, and her family background was strong. She was the child that every parent wanted.

She f*cking hated her; because of her, everyone did not see how good she was. Ha, ha, I never thought that I would see this day coming.

Jolin gestured to her sidekick, who was standing next to her, and then she walked into the Red Shift proudly with her high heels.

She would not bully Freya herself; she would take advantage of this idiot.

And that woman was the one who had a fight with Freya due to her pouring water onto her shoes. She was a normal actress; her name was Emma.

She was pestering Jacob, and it turned out he scolded her and asked her not to embarrass that cleaner. She was furious.

Hmph, she's just a lowly cleaner, so why did Mr. Rivera protect her? She had such an ugly scar on her face.

Emma finally managed to get near Jacob, the rich man of a woman's dream. But it was all in vain now.

Jolin was fairly influential in their circle, so obviously Emma would do anything to please her. It was hard to get good resources as an actress after all.

Emma was staring viciously and deadly at Freya.

She understood what Jolin wanted her to do; as Jolin was famous now, she would not create trouble for herself.

But Emma was different. She raised her hand and slapped Freya's cheek.

Freya abruptly looked at Emma; she stared at her in an indescribable way, which actually intimidated Emma a bit.

But Emma calmed herself down as she remembered that Freya was just a cheap and ugly cleaner. She could easily ruin her life.

Freya did not expect Jolin to summon someone to bully her; she took a deep breath and looked down.
