The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 106

Blake looked at Megan with a grin and said, "Ms. Turner, your bodyguards are too weak. How could they possibly protect you like this?

"However, you don't have to worry. I can get you better bodyguards if you want. Also, I promise the men I find will be the best of the best, and you'll like them for sure.

"Now, can we finally chat? Believe me, you won't lose anything by being my friend."

He looked confident as he spoke slowly. It was as if he had never failed in his life.

Megan took a deep breath and seemed calmer as she looked at him. "You're Blake Norwich, right? Mr. Norwich, it looks like you're not an average Joe.

"Plus, why haven't I heard of you before? After all, I don't think there's any great family in Eastern State with that last name, let alone in Bellington. Are you from another state?"

He chuckled. "Why are you interrogating me, Megan? If you want to know more about me, you can just say so."

He took out his business card again and passed it to her. This time, she accepted it. But when she saw that he was the general manager of an investment company, she couldn't help smiling bitterly.

The company was under his own name, so she wouldn't be able to find any clues from it. She also had never heard of the company before, so she couldn't identify his background at all.

"So, what kind of person are you, Mr. Norwich?" she asked right away as she looked at him while waving the card.

Blake smiled and said, "We all need a title in society, right? I didn't want to be a part of my family's business, so I'm avoiding it for now.
