"You… What did you do?" Jerry asked as he fell to the ground while clutching his stomach. He stared at Nolan as he gritted his teeth.
Nolan calmly said, "Nothing. You're just poisoned. Don't worry. The poison isn't lethal. However, you can still die from the pain."
After that, he looked at the time and smiled. "You have about 30 minutes. From what I've seen in the past, most people can only withstand the pain for that long. Then, they'll either die from the pain or end their lives themselves. Now, apologize to my table, and I'll give you the antidote."
At that moment, Jerry was in so much pain that he couldn't speak anymore. He didn't know if Nolan was telling the truth, but he knew the pain he was feeling was unbearable. If it kept going on, he might really die in 30 minutes.
Seeing how relaxed Nolan looked at that moment, he really felt like crying. It was supposed to be a simple task for him, but things took a different turn in the end.
"You… Give us the antidote now. Otherwise, the Norwich family will never let you go. You're going to die."
Nolan nodded. Then, he said without a care in the world while scratching his ear, "Alright. I get it, so stop with the threats. It's so boring. Apologize to my table now, or I'm not giving you the antidote."
After saying that, he took out five pills and was ready to toss them away. However, Jerry couldn't endure it any longer. So, he got on his knees in front of the table he had slapped earlier.
"I'm sorry, table. I was being an idiot earlier, and I shouldn't have slapped you. I was wrong, so I'm sorry!"
It was incredibly humiliating, and he had never felt that way before. As Blake's follower, he was also a somebody.
However, he was kneeling in front of a table at that moment and apologizing to it. It didn't make any sense at all, but he didn't have a choice.
