Soon, Blake and his men arrived at Nolan's house. However, this time, there were more than a dozen men, and whoever saw them would wonder if they had gone mad. That was because they were all wearing gas masks. It was as if there was a plague.
When they walked to the door, it wasn't closed. Clearly, Nolan was waiting for them.
Blake shot Jerry a gaze, and the latter knew what he was thinking immediately. Although Jerry was afraid, he still entered the room with the gas mask on his face.
"Nolan, get out of here. We're back."
At that moment, Nolan was doing the dishes in the kitchen. When he heard Jerry's voice, he calmly dried his hands and entered the living room.
When he saw them with their gas masks on, he smiled mockingly. Then, he walked to the couch and took a seat, saying calmly, "You guys look interesting. However, do you think it'll work?
"Enough chatter. Is your boss here? If so, tell him to come in. Don't just stand outside and scare my neighbors."
Then, Blake entered the living room with the rest of the men. The living room wasn't that huge to begin with. With those men in there, it immediately felt smaller.
Blake sat in front of Nolan and took a closer look at the latter. Then, he said with a smile, "So, you're the guy that Mr. Norwich Senior has been appointed as his successor, huh? You really are a capable man, but I'm afraid you're still not worthy of receiving his shares."
When Nolan heard that, he sighed helplessly. Then, he pointed at his ear and said, "What are you saying? I can't hear you clearly!"
Blake was frustrated when he heard that. Although the gas mask might have been working wonders, it was affecting his speech, and it was exhausting for him to talk.
