The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 117

Blake removed the gas mask on his face right away. Then, he looked at Nolan and said with a smile, "That was impressive, Mr. Greene. You sure are unpredictable and amazing!"

Nolan calmly said, "If you're here to ask about Mr. Norwich Senior, then please don't bother. If you're planning on buying the shares with a million dollars, then shut your mouth too and get out of here."

When Blake heard that, he was stunned for a moment. Then, he looked at Jerry and asked, "A million dollars?"

Jerry started sweating again and kneeled on the ground once more. "Mr. Norwich, I-I was just trying to help you save some money and didn't have anything else on my mind!"

Blake glared at Jerry for a moment before turning back to Nolan with a smile.

"Mr. Greene, it's all just a misunderstanding. Clearly, it's impossible to buy the shares from you with just a million dollars.

"How about 10 million dollars in cash and some properties in Eastern State? Everything should be worth at least 50 million dollars, so is that sincere enough for you?

"Of course, I know the shares are clearly worth more than that. However, we can't just look at it like that. Instead, we have to look at this from another angle. For example, the shares are worthless in your hands, and they can cost you your life as well."

Then, he explained, "But if you give them to us, not only will you be safe for the rest of your life, but you'll also have one new friend. So, why not accept the offer?

"You're a smart man, Mr. Greene, and I'm sure you know what you should do."

Compared to the million dollars from before, the offer Blake gave was clearly more generous. Any person might've accepted it after being threatened and tempted the same way.

However, Nolan was no ordinary person. He looked at Blake and smiled.
