The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 139

Hunter was stunned by what he was witnessing. Kitty and Dipsy were shocked as well. They didn't expect Nolan to strike first, let alone expect his cruel attacks.

Hunter glared at Nolan and yelled, "How dare you attack us, you bastard!"

Nolan scoffed when he heard that. "So, was I supposed to just sit here and let you guys gang up on me? Can I not fight back? Is that a code you live by? Let me tell you my code then."

He slowly stood up and stretched his neck. Then, he looked at Hunter and his men.

He said coldly, "It's been a while since I had practice. Since you guys are here, I can't possibly turn you guys away. Don't worry. I'll hold back a little and not kill you all."

He sounded arrogant, as if he could deal with everyone by himself.

Hunter was infuriated. He didn't want to be humiliated in front of Kara. Also, there were a lot of people watching them right then.

If his reputation was destroyed, there was no way for him to live with his head held up around those parts anymore. In fact, he would certainly become a joke.

Since he was a thug, he cared about his reputation the most. If he lost that, then there was no point in being a thug anymore.

"Alright, brat. You really are bold. So, you can fight, huh? Let's see how great you are at it. Boys, get him! Don't hold back and kill him if you must!" Hunter ordered his men.

Nolan stopped holding back as he watched the thugs running toward him. He threw a punch at one of them, and the man fell backward immediately with a bleeding nose. Then, Nolan grabbed another guy's hair and slapped him so hard that he lost a few teeth.
