The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 140

Since Hunter couldn't win in a physical fight, he started threatening Nolan with his reputation and connections. It was always the same with thugs like him, and they never changed.

Nolan shook his head and sighed. "I thought that you would be more capable. Is this all you can do?"

After he said that, he let go of Hunter's hair and sat on the couch.

He calmly said, "Alright, since I've already started throwing punches today, I don't mind doing it more. Go ahead and call your men. Call your boss here today while you're at it. I also want you to apologize. Otherwise, I'll never let you go."

Hunter gritted his teeth as he glared at Nolan. "I know you can fight, Nolan, but Bellington is our territory. Even if you can fight well, how long can you keep it up?

"My boys and I are just the tip of the underground iceberg. Once the biggest underground bosses are here, you'll be too scared to say something that arrogant.

"I'll have you know now that I'm working under Tristan Teller, and he's under Lincoln. Now, do you understand who you've offended? You want me to kneel and apologize, huh? I think you're the one who should do it now. Otherwise, you won't have any more chances to do it in the future."

After he was done provoking Nolan, he took out his phone to call for backup.

At that moment, Nolan felt nonplussed, thinking what a coincidence it was and how useful Lincon's name was in the underground world.

It made sense for Chase to be working under Lincoln, but it turned out that someone like Hunter could do it as well. Not only that, but those people were the ones who were there to stir up trouble for Nolan.

Nolan really was at a loss for words at that moment. He sighed and looked at Hunter. "So, does that mean you're Lincoln's man?"
