The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 146

Tristan's command left everyone present stunned, especially his men, who looked at him in bewilderment.

Tristan couldn't care less and shouted angrily, "What are you all staring at? Follow the order! Remember, if anyone dares to try anything, take them down immediately!"

After saying that, Tristan turned to Nolan and said respectfully, "Mr. Greene, rest assured, as long as I, Tristan, am here, I won't let you get hurt."

These words left everyone speechless. Weren't they the ones trying to harm Nolan earlier? Why did they suddenly become his protectors? What's up with this act?

Nolan knew what was going on and simply nodded at Tristan and the others. "Actually, there's no need for that. I can handle it myself."

At that moment, it didn't matter whether or not Tristan believed Nolan. What mattered was that he had a task to complete.

"Yes, yes, of course you can protect yourself, Mr. Greene. But I hope that you can understand that Lincoln instructed us to protect you from any harm. So, please allow us to handle these trivial matters.

"Mr. Greene, I'm really sorry for what happened just now. If you wish to punish anyone, feel free to do so. I promise there won't be any complaints."

Then, Tristan gave Hunter a nudge and said with a smile, "Mr. Greene, Hunter didn't know any better and made a mistake. You may punish him as you see fit."

After that, he glared at Hunter and yelled, "You fool! Kneel down and apologize to Mr. Greene!"

Hunter snapped out of his daze, his face filled with regret and pain. Even Lincoln called this man "Mr. Greene". Hunter's actions just now were nothing short of a death wish.
