Kara was fuming with anger. She could tolerate being looked down upon by others, but for Nolan to look down on her, it filled her with rage.
She could never understand how Nolan was someone of real importance. To her, he was just a manipulative fraud; a nobody who just got out of prison. Yes, he knew Lincoln somehow, but the fact remained that he was just a fraud.
Just then, the three men approached Tristan and his men and said coldly, "If you don't want to die, step aside."
Tristan was truly furious. Hunter's mistake had embarrassed him and almost caused a major disaster. But Nolan had Lincoln's protection, so who were these three men?
Their arrogance was comparable to Nolan's. Tristan simply couldn't believe that he had to tiptoe around everyone that day.
"Who do you think you are, coming to Bellington and causing trouble? I suggest you leave now. Otherwise, you won't be spared," Tristan barked at the three men.
The three men didn't respond. Instead, they each drew their weapons, indicating they were ready to fight.
It was at this moment that Nolan stood up and looked at Tristan. "You are no match for them. Step aside."
Tristan turned to Nolan and replied respectfully, "Mr. Greene, please trust in our abilities. We may not be Lincoln's strongest men, but we are certainly the most loyal.
"Lincoln ordered us to protect you from even the smallest harm, so we have to carry out that order even if it will cost us our lives!"
Tristan was afraid that Lincoln would come back to settle debts with him, so he quickly seized the opportunity to express his loyalty.
