The sound of gunfire changed everything. This was no longer just any ordinary brawl.
The third man glanced at his arm which had been hit and was bleeding profusely. His face twisted in a mixture of pain and rage. "You're looking for death!"
The leader of the three men turned toward Lincoln and shouted furiously, "How dare you shoot at us! Do you know what you just did? Do you know who you're dealing with?"
As Lincoln slowly approached, a crowd of his men gathered behind him and advanced as well.
"Everyone else, clear out," Lincoln ordered.
Under Lincoln's command, his men immediately began clearing the crowd. Kara and the rest were all ushered out without any complaints. In truth, they were more than ready to leave this deadly scene.
Once everyone had left, Lincoln took a deep breath and faced the three men. "Mr. Greene is an honored guest of both myself and the Baxter family. We will not tolerate any harm to him.
"We are unable to reach Gregory at the moment, but I believe that even he would grant us some respect if he knew that the Baxter family was backing Mr. Greene. Gentlemen, I suggest you leave now. Otherwise, don't blame us for what happens next."
The three men sneered at Lincoln's words. "So, you do know who we are. How brave of you! You knew that we were sent by Gregory but still daring to oppose us. Lincoln, you really do have a death wish!
"In the entire Eastern State, Gregory's word is law. Lincoln, you should prepare for your men and the entire Baxter family to be wiped out."
