"The Thompson family? So, it was because they were unhappy and convinced Gregory, which led to today's assassination, right?" Nolan was able to immediately pinpoint the root cause.
Lincoln nodded. "That's right. I'm nor sure what kind of relationship Robert has with Gregory, but he managed to persuade him, which led to Gregory sending assassins here.
"Moreover, Robert even went to the Baxter residence and tried to get us to back down. But Archie firmly refused, leading to what happened next."
After a short pause, he asked, "Mr. Greene regarding the Thompson family, what do you think we should do?"
Nolan replied seriously, "Since they're already captured him, I might as well pay them a visit. There is already blood on my hands, and at this point, it's unavoidable to add more.
"I let the Thompson family off before, thinking they'd learn their lesson. But now, it seems that this world is filled with people who never learn their lesson. Come on, Lincoln. I'll go with you."
This was the best outcome for now, so Lincoln didn't say more and left with Nolan.
Meanwhile, outside the bar, many people had already left, but Kara and her two friends were still there.
The way things unfolded had completely blindsided the three of them. They had initially thought they were just getting someone to teach Nolan a lesson, but who would've thought that he'd end up teaching them one instead?
And to top it off, there were actual assassins that came for Nolan. Lincoln even drew his gun. The situation had escalated far beyond their expectations.
