The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 166

Killing Nolan was the solution Shaun had come up with.

Lincoln's expression changed drastically upon hearing this. He turned to Shaun and scolded, "That is impossible, Mr. Baxter! Do not speak such words again. If we intended to kill Nolan, then why would we have gone through so much effort to protect him?

"If we had simply stayed silent, we wouldn't have upset Mr. Lynch and we wouldn't be in this mess. But you don't seem to grasp how crucial Nolan is. Just stop talking and I'll act like I didn't hear your words."

Lincoln's head began to pound. He never thought Shaun would say something like this. Killing Nolan? It seemed like an easy task, but in reality, it was impossible.

Shaun looked at Lincoln, not surprised by his immediate rejection. He carefully looked around before speaking up.

"Lincoln, I know how important Nolan is, and I understand that he saved Grandpa. But is it worth putting the entire Baxter family in danger for one person?

"If that's true, then how can this possibly be considered a life-saving action? It's clearly going to cause harm to the Baxter family.

"In the past, you saved Nolan because you didn't realize how cruel and ruthless he could be. You hoped to make peace with Mr. Lynch as well. But now, is that still a possibility?"

Shaun clenched his teeth, and a cold glint appeared in his eyes as he spoke with frustration, "We've sacrificed so much for Nolan, but has he shown any gratitude towards us? No! Not even a hint.

"Not only did he kill three assassins, but he also intentionally provoked Mr. Lynch, setting aside the fact that he killed Mr. Thompson. Do you believe that Lincoln has lost his mind? Can we continue to be associated with someone like this?

"Taking out Nolan may be our simplest solution. If we pin everything on him, we could potentially turn this unfortunate situation into a favorable one and gain the support of Mr. Lynch. It's like killing two birds with one stone. Lincoln, it's about time we seriously consider this option."

It was worth noting that Shaun's statement had a valid point.
