The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 175

Scarlet was infuriated when he heard that on the line.

"Damn it! Fang, how dare you sow discord between Mr. Greene and me? You have a lot of nerve to doubt my loyalty to Mr. Greene! You must have a death wish!"

Upon hearing that, Fang immediately forced a miserable smile and said, "No! No! My bad. I thought you were busy, so I was just being considerate.

"After all, Mr. Greene has given plenty of time. At least he doesn't plan to restructure the Eastern State's underworld completely for the time being. He has given more than enough time.

"So, I thought you could go ahead with your own matters. There's no need to hurry. I mean it. Take your time."

If Scarlet really misunderstood that Fang was sowing discord between him and Nolan, he would break Fang's legs even if he didn't kill him for the sake of Nolan. It was something Scarlet would do.

To be frank, there were some among Nolan's friends or subordinates who weren't afraid of Scarlet, but there were only a few of them.

And it was terrifying that these people were insane. They weren't any better than Scarlet, and some were even more cruel than him.

That was why Nolan hadn't looked for them when he was out of prison, and he also hadn't let them find him. It would be disastrous if that truly happened.

Considering that Nolan had summoned Scarlet, it seemed like he wanted more than just the Eastern State's underworld.

Of course, Fang might just be overthinking things. Scarlet used to be Nolan's bodyguard. He would probably be in charge of keeping Nolan safe this time.

"Fang, if you dare to act of your own will and spout nonsense again, I'll remove all your teeth." With that, Scarlet ended the call.
