The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 206

There was no way Kara would ask Archie about it.

She said, "Why would Mr. Baxter want to meet someone like you? Hey, what's going on in the house? I see you have some luggage lying around. Are you packing up? Are you running away?"

Nolan calmly said, "I think the house is too small for me, so I want to move somewhere bigger."

Kara laughed right away and said, "Somewhere bigger, huh? Do you think that, since you're still with Megan, you can afford a huge villa like her?"

He shrugged. "Her house is too small for me as well. I don't like it."

She thought he was being pretentious by saying Megan's house was small. "Oh, Nolan… I'm starting to get used to how shameless you are. Did you learn how to say all these in prison? You might as well say you want to live on a hill. After all, it's big enough there, and the view is beautiful!"

When Nolan heard that, he nodded calmly and smiled at her. "How did you know I was going to do that?"

Kara was certain that he was being sarcastic and was infuriated. She said through gritted teeth, "Shut up, Nolan. Stop smiling at me!"

He sighed while looking at her. "I'm not angry at you because you're Audrey's cousin. However, don't forget that my patience is thin."

When he said that, his gaze looked cold.

Kara's heart skipped a beat when she noticed it. It felt as if she really had forgotten that Nolan wasn't a merciful person at all.

Hunter almost lost both of his legs. If she didn't beg for his mercy, he would've also lost an arm and a leg. Nolan did all of that by himself.

When Kara thought about it, she felt scared.
