The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 207

"What do you mean by misunderstanding? Do you think people might think something is going on between us? I knew it! You're a bastard! How could you think of me like that? You're too much…" Kara spoke without stopping.

As she spoke, she slowly backed away while hugging herself. It was as if she was worried Nolan might do something to her.

Nolan felt helpless. Kara looked beautiful and had a nice figure. She was also young and was a fine lady. However, he really didn't care about her at all.

He said helplessly, "Alright, fine. Just go now."

"What do you mean by that? Are you chasing me away like I'm a fly or something? How dare you humiliate me? This is too much!" She raised her fist and punched him in the chest. It didn't hurt at all, but he was at a complete loss of words.

"Enough, Kara. If you keep this up, I'm not going to your party anymore," Nolan said.

When Kara heard that, she glared at him. "You're just a stupid toad, so don't even dream about meeting your princess. I'm warning you, Nolan! Since you've agreed to come to my party, don't you go back on your word."

Then, she left the house.

Nolan sat on the couch and sighed helplessly.

After Kara left the house, she called Megan right away and told her that that Nolan was attending the party. When she was done passing the message, she returned to the car.

Kitty and Dipsy looked at her and said, "What's wrong? You look upset. Did he say no?"

When Kara heard that, she scoffed. "How could he possibly say no when I invited him myself?"

Kitty smiled and said, "That's great! Nolan's such a hunk, and he's so charming. Why don't you let me have him, Kara? You might dislike him for being a liar, but I don't."

Kara glared at her. "Shut up, Kitty. Stay away from him. Do you hear me?"

Kitty stuck out her tongue and didn't seem like she was giving up.

Suddenly, Dipsy asked timidly, "Kara, can I be honest with you?"

Kara frowned. "Why are you being so reserved? Spit it out!"
