Before Jeanne left Nolan's house, she smiled with her mouth covered.
"You sure can hold yourself back. However, you're still a man at the end of the day. Let's see how you can do that? One day, I'll expose your mask and get you to show your true colors!"
After she was done mumbling to herself, she looked at the paper in her hand. She wanted to throw it away, but she hesitated for a moment. Then, she kept it in her bag in the end.
She mumbled to herself, "You want to put me on top of the world, huh? You sure are bold to say that. However, I'm not bold enough to believe it."
After that, she drove away in her car.
As for the paper that could change her fate, it was simply chucked into her bag just like that. There was no telling when she would remember about it again.
...
The long night finally passed, and Archie had a great sleep. In fact, it was the best sleep he had in a long while.
It wasn't due to the wine he drank the previous night. Instead, it was because he learned that Misty Hill belonged to Nolan.
He knew that Nolan's potential and capabilities were way out of his imagination to be able to build Misty Hill. With such capabilities, he seemed to have realized why Nolan wasn't scared of Gregory at all.
Archie felt great as he got out of bed early in the morning. He was feeling an appetite, so he told the cook to prepare a feast for breakfast, and he enjoyed it a lot.
Meanwhile, Lincoln and Shaun woke up early as well.
Shaun had arrived at the Baxter residence early in the morning. However, he didn't return to his room, nor did he look for Archie.
Instead, he went to Lincoln's room. Since he was there to do something important, he had to tread carefully.
Shaun said, "Lincoln, Dad's having breakfast right now, and he'll be exercising in the garden later. Shall we wait for him there?"
When he noticed how quiet Lincoln was, he immediately felt upset.
He had already expected it. Lincoln was great friends with Archie. Even if he could betray Archie, there was a chance for him to go back on his word.
That's why Shaun figured it would be better if they did it as soon as possible. That way, Lincoln would have no chance to regret his choice.
Lincoln kept quiet for a long while. Then, he looked at Shaun and asked softly, "Is there really no other way? I really can't bear to do this. When I picked him up at Nolan's house last night, he drank a lot and was really happy. Maybe he has a way to fix things."
When Shaun heard that, he immediately became anxious.
He said, "Are you mad, Lincoln? What can he possibly do about it? Don't tell me he could come up with a great idea after having a drink at Nolan's house! Although Nolan's slightly capable, he's just a great bluffer! At the end of the day, he's just a normal guy with some medical skills.
