The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 213

Archie was stunned for a moment when he heard what Lincoln said. Then, he smiled.

He said, "Although I drank a lot last night, I wasn't really that drunk. So, of course I remember what I said. It's my dream to retire early. Honestly, I'm exhausted after working so hard for so long. If I do have the chance, I might as well enjoy my life properly.

"I even told you to pick a suitable candidate to replace you. That way, we can both enjoy retirement together. What's wrong, Lincoln? Don't tell me that you want that kind of life now! Haha!"

Archie laughed happily. He hadn't realized how serious things were getting.

Meanwhile, Lincoln smiled and said, "Mr. Baxter, to be honest with you, I really want to retire and enjoy life with you too. After all, life has been exhausting as you've said. Now that the children are all grown up, it's time for us to step down.

"What do you think, Mr. Baxter? Mr. Shaun is right here, and you've always been satisfied with him. I'm sure that he won't let you down, right?"

Archie frowned slightly at Lincoln and asked, "Are you serious, Lincoln?"

Lincoln nodded. "Don't you want this, Mr. Baxter?"

Archie stayed silent for a moment before sighing a little. "Of course I want it. However, I just can't let it go yet."

Then, he turned to Shaun and said, "Everyone has been preparing you to be an heir for the past few years. Honestly, you've made me very proud as well."
