The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 214

Archie continued, "Let's wait a little while longer and train him more. Otherwise, he won't be able to take over the family, especially since the Baxters are in a crisis now. Once this is over, we can think about these other matters."

With that, he managed to stop all possibilities of letting Shaun take over him. At least, it wouldn't happen at that moment.

However, Shaun wanted it at that moment.

He couldn't hold back anymore and turned to Archie. "Dad, since our family is in trouble now, I can't bear to see you overwork yourself anymore. Why don't you let me try to handle it? Maybe I can even do it well!"

When Archie heard that, he was stunned. He didn't take their conversation from earlier seriously because he thought that they were just chatting casually .

However, Shaun was immediately demanding for power when he spoke.

Archie thought about his talk with Lincoln and realized something else was happening.

He frowned slightly and calmly turned to Shaun. "Are you getting impatient and want to become the head of the family now? I've told you that you'll be the head if nothing else goes wrong.

"However, now isn't the time. At the very least, we'll have to wait until this storm blows over and everything returns to normal first. Then, I can finally hand over the Baxters to you.

"Shaun, I don't wish to abandon our family when it needs me the most. Instead, I need to make sure it's safe and sound before letting you be in charge. That's the only way you can be the head of the family for a long time. Do you understand me?"
