Megan appraised Audrey's get-up and realized, with no small amount of bewilderment, that she was wearing the full set.

"Audrey, what's that jewelry you're wearing? Why do you have it?" Megan asked. She then gave a contemptuous look at Nolan and drawled, "Don't tell me you got it for her. Did you seriously buy the Crystal of Devotion?"

Nolan nodded once and countered, "So what if I did? If you like it so much, you should've gotten it. Too bad I beat you to it. I think the jewelry suits Audrey. I'm sure even you can tell it looks like it was made for her."

Megan bristled at his words, but she broke into a laugh immediately after. The more he explained, the more she was convinced he was lying.

She turned to look at Audrey with pity as she drawled, "Oh, my poor Audrey. You could have settled for a better man, but you just had to fall in love with a good-for-nothing, pretentious liar who likes to brag.

"Did Nolan tell you he got you the Crystal of Devotion as a gift, and that it was worth over a hundred million dollars? Hah!"

Audrey shook her head. "Nolan gave me the jewelry, but it's not the Crystal of Devotion. It's Audrey's Devotion." She blushed and added emotionally, "The jewelry is beautiful and the craftsmanship is flawless, but it's not worth much.
