The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 73

It seemed like Nolan was purposely messing with Megan, raising the bid by just a hundred thousand dollars each time.

Megan was angry, her voice cold as she said, "I've got Nolan figured out. He's definitely doing this on purpose. The bid must be raised by at least a hundred thousand dollars each time. Otherwise, he'd be doing something petty, like raising by just one dollar.

"I never knew he could be such a jerk. Now it's clear—leaving him was the best thing I ever did. Fine! If he wants to compete, let's see how much money he really has."

Megan gritted her teeth and raised her hand. "40 million dollars!"

Nolan heard this and calmly raised his hand. "40.1 million dollars."

Megan sneered and kept bidding, "50 million dollars!"

Nolan didn't hesitate and raised his hand again. "50.1 million dollars."

At that moment, Megan couldn't stay calm anymore. Was Nolan really going to keep this up?

Jeanne quickly leaned in and whispered, "Megan, the bid is already at 50 million dollars. It's not worth it. Why don't we just back off? We can deal with him when he can't pay."

Megan gritted her teeth. "That jerk is doing this on purpose, Jeanne. I'm so close to calling him out. Let everyone see that this ex-convict is just a broke loser."
