The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 75

Megan's sadness was even stronger than her anger. Without realizing it, her eyes started to turn red, and she struggled to hold back tears.

Jeanne saw this and got worried. She knew if Megan started reminiscing about how good Nolan used to be, everything they had done might be wasted.

"Megan, what's going on? Are you really changing your mind just because Nolan is being nice to Audrey? Don't be silly. Nolan is just a useless ex-convict. Being with him will only bring you trouble and embarrassment. Remember. You're the CEO of Megan Corporation.

"Also, Nolan is clearly trying to mess with you and show off. If you give in now, you're falling right into his trap."

Megan quickly wiped away her tears and said firmly, "No. I'm not changing my mind. Why would I regret it? Jeanne, you're thinking too much. I'm just angry right now.

"Even though I'm not with Nolan anymore, seeing him move on so quickly with someone else feels like a huge insult to me. I can't handle it."

Jeanne sighed, relieved, but she knew they needed a good plan to fix things.

"Megan, there's still a way to handle this. Nolan is clearly trying to make you angry, which means he still cares about you. If you really want to get back at Nolan and Audrey, we can find another way to outsmart them. We can make them regret this."

Megan looked curious. "How can we do that?"

Jeanne explained quietly, "It's actually pretty simple. Nolan still loves you. If you give him a little hint and show him some kindness, he'll do whatever you want. You could even make him leave Audrey.
