The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 83

Some people, trying to impress the beautiful Megan, started bidding higher.

"Ms. Turner has made an offer, so we can't be too cheap. It's for charity, after all. Let's be generous."

"I'll bid 15 thousand dollars."

"Alright. If everyone's upping their bids, I'll go with 20 thousand dollars."

"Even though I don't know much about paintings, I'll offer 30 thousand dollars. But I want one thing. After the auction, Mr. Greene should apologize to Ms. Turner for being rude earlier."

A younger businessman used this chance to show his interest in Megan, and soon, others joined in, demanding Nolan apologize to Megan.

Megan leaned back, smiling at Jeanne. "Look at this, Jeanne. I don't even have to bid. Others are doing it for me, and their requests are reasonable. I'm really curious to see how Nolan is going to handle this."

She pointed out Audrey, who was shifting uncomfortably in her seat. "Look at Audrey. She's so restless. I bet she's going to leave soon."

Jeanne chuckled. "Megan, you've really put Nolan in a tough spot. He must be wishing he could disappear. He's regretting making those conditions and only making things worse for himself."

To Megan and Jeanne, Nolan seemed hopeless. The other bidders were making fun of him, treating him like a joke.

Meanwhile, the Baxter family decided it was best to stay quiet, leaving Nolan completely isolated and vulnerable.

At this point, Archie was feeling a bit awkward. More importantly, he couldn't let these people upset Nolan. They might not see Nolan's real value, but Archie knew it well.
