The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 93

"You did all of that just to make me see you again and to make me regret leaving you. Well, it looks like you succeeded. I really do regret it now. Are you happy?"

By the end of it, two tears slid down Megan's cheek. She made it look like she was extremely aggrieved and was evoking sympathy from Nolan.

Nolan sighed softly as he looked at Megan. "Megan, as the CEO of a major company, won't you feel ashamed crying in the middle of the street?

"Anyone passing might think I was the one who made you cry. Come on. Stop crying, alright?"

Megan knew her tears were having the desired effect when she saw Nolan's attitude soften. She immediately balled her hands into fists and playfully hit his chest.

Megan sniffled. "It's all your fault, you bully. You're such a meanie. It's all your fault."

To any onlooker, Megan appeared coquettish. They looked like a couple teasing each other.

Nolan looked at Megan helplessly and shook his head. "That's enough. Fine. I'm the bad guy. Everything is my fault. Are you happy now? So, what do you want?"

Megan looked up at him, still sniffling. "I want you to leave Audrey. I don't like her. She's been coveting you ever since she met you.

"She still hasn't given up after all these years. I can't stand her. I don't want you to be with her. Leave her, okay?"

Megan was definitely being playfully demanding, but her demand was too much.

After a moment of silence, Nolan looked at Megan and responded, "Audrey and I have always been just friends. Besides, what makes you think I would agree to your request?
