Jess unlocked the door to her brother's apartment as she entered with her luggage. She looked around the house and it was tidy and beautiful. Zed had given her directions to her room already so she dragged her bags to the room he had shown her. It was well kept and looked comfortable. The walls were turquoise with white designs of beautiful flowers.
She closed the door behind her and started to unpack her bags. This was going to be a new chapter in her life. She didn't close her salon down, she had someone else managing it until she was done with her studies.
Freya was buzzing with excitement as her workers moved up and down making sure everything was ready for her launch. She always had the same giddy feeling each time she was launching a new collection.
“Everything set?" She asked Carla who had just entered the office.
“Yes, boss." She replied curtly.
“If there is nothing else to do, have everyone go home to rest and prepare for the launch tonight." She instructed.
“Okay, and don't stress yourself too much have enough rest everything would be fine, you got this." Carla convinced walking out of the office.
Soraya sat at the bar alone sipping on champagne. She had missed Nichole's company and yet there was no way she was admitting that to her, her ego won't let her stoop so low to do that.
I could get a new best friend with just a snap of my fingers. She said as if on cur Bella entered the bar with her girls. She spotted Soraya and walked to her table.
“I can see your bodyguard isn't here with you." She teased.
“I fired her, the position is vacant if you're willing to have it." She concentrated on her drink.
“Wait, are you serious or you're pulling my legs?" She interestingly asked.
“Does it look like I'm joking or playing around?" She rudely asked.
“It's just, that--"
“Are you in or out?" She asked more sternly.
“Of course I am in, who would pass the offer of becoming Soraya's best friend." She said to her other friends.
“What about us?' Shelly, one of Bella's girls asked.
“You're free to tag along." She said as they sat at her table talking about random stuff, looking for the next man to take home.
Actually, these brats aren't bad company at all. Soraya thought. If only she knew that they had a motive of their own.
“Jess?" Zed called as he got home. He closed from his shop early so he could make it for Freya's launch.
“Hey bro." She came out of the kitchen wearing a apron.
“Have you been here for long?" He asked.
“Yeah, I came in the morning." She answered serving him dinner.
“I hope Ma and Amelia are fine?" He inquired.
“They good." She said as she served him his dinner. After dinner, he headed to his room to have a shower and get ready for Freya's launch.
“Headed somewhere?" Jess asked watching tv.
“Yes, to a friend's launch." He smiled.
He looked handsome in his attire tonight.
