The Return of the Disguised Princess novel Chapter 223

Chapter 223 Change of View

At this moment, Cynthia was sitting in front of the dressing table in the room and losing in thought.

“Cynthia, what’s wrong with you? You’ve been sitting here in a daze.”

The assistant cautiously asked her.

“Not much at all. It’s just odd to me. Amelie, what kind of person is she? Why did she come to my aid this afternoon?”

“To be honest, Cynthia, I don’t think Amelie is a bad person. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have helped you, despite how we treated her before. It proves that she is a forgiving person. Maybe you can still be friends with her.”

The things the assistant said actually made sense.

Cynthia’s look didn’t change much, but she was beginning to have an answer in her heart.

“You’re right. I was being petty before. I should talk to her when I have the chance.”

Cynthia ultimately decided to let go of the past and try to understand Amelie more deeply.

Emilee’s recovery was progressing nicely, and she was about to be released from the hospital.

Amelie arrived at the hospital right away to pick her up.

“Thank goodness you came in time. Otherwise, I would have…”

“As long as you know it. How long has it been since you last contacted me? Even if we had a fight, it should be over by now, right? So tell me, who kidnapped you?”

Amelie asked as she packed her belongings.

“I’m not sure. I was walking home after taking a taxi a few nights ago when I noticed someone following me, so I ran the entire distance, hoping to shake them off, but I didn’t expect someone to stop in front of me. They were all wearing masks and caps, and the lights were dark. They didn’t do anything to me, and I couldn’t hear anything. They just took me to that boat.”

After listening to Emilee’s story, Amelie felt that something was off.

“Those people are really strange. How inexplicable! They kidnapped you, but they didn’t ask for anything in return.”

“Yeah, that’s what I’m curious about too. They should have contacted my family according to common sense. If they wanted money, it would be understandable, but they don’t want anything. It’s too bizarre.”

Amelie walked over to her after she finished packing.

“All right, let’s not linger on these unfortunate events. I’ve arranged for folks to look into it, and I expect to hear back soon.

Don’t be concerned.”

Amelie comforted her and then took Emilee out of the hospital room.

Lamont rushed in just as they walked into the hospital lobby,

Amelie’s heart tightened as she glanced at him, and she was unconsciously nervous, but she didn’t show it on her face.

“Why did you come here?”

She asked clumsily while avoiding his look.

“I was worried about you, so I came to see you. Are you ready to be discharged today?”

Lamont looked at the stuff in their hands and guessed what was going on.

“Yes, she’s recovered enough and should be discharged.”

Emilee was perceptive and knew that she shouldn’t be a third wheel, so she quickly found an excuse and left the hospital lobby, getting into a car outside.

She was already gone before Amelie wanted to stop her.

“I came because I wanted to tell you something.”

Lamont’s mysterious demeanor made Amelie feel uneasy and unsure.

Finally, they went to a nearby resting area and sat down.

“Are you going to talk to me about the kidnapping of Emilee? Do you have any leads?”

Amelie eagerly asked.

“We do have some clues, and we’ve already guessed who’s behind it, but we’re struggling because we don’t have any

evidence,”

How could that be?
