Cindy laughed out loud at that. “I’m not well-off myself. Don’t you remember how desperate I was in the past?”
In the end, the duo sat on the couch and chatted for quite some time. Then, Naomi took out her phone and announced, “Let’s play a game.”
Truth be told, Cindy was reluctant to join in as she was quite tired. However, she noticed that Naomi was in high spirits, so she took out her cell phone too.
While logging into the game, Naomi mentioned, “Get Ian to join us too. We’re bad at this so we need someone to lead us.”
Cindy glanced at the time and realized that Ian should have ended his shooting session.
After considering it for a short while, she muttered, “Let’s log in first and check whether he’s there.” After she logged in, she noticed that Ian was currently offline.
He should be quite free right now and she could practically envision him scrolling on his phone or taking a rest lying down as soon as he reached home.
Subsequently, she sent him a short text message. ‘Up for a game?’
Right at that moment, Ian was watering the plants at home.
With Cindy away, he naturally took charge of the plants.
At that moment, he was caught by surprise as soon as he saw her text message but soon after that, he couldn’t quite contain his smile.
He finished off watering the plants and turned around to head back to his room. Then, he logged into the game.
Meanwhile, Cindy waited for a short while and finally noticed that he was online. And so, she invited him to join their game.
In all honesty, she felt quite confused about everything. Previously, she had somehow got into a tiff with him unexpectedly. Oddly enough, they had made up with each other.
This was an unexplainable feeling. It just felt like something was bothering her.
As they played the game this time, Naomi kept silent and all three of them switched their microphones off too, so it was extremely quiet.
Finally, Ian broke the silence and he sent a text message to Cindy in the game to ask what she wanted to have for dinner.
Just then, Naomi turned around to look at Cindy. “Hey, he’s asking you something!”
Naturally, the latter had seen the text message too.
However, without making eye contact, Cindy asked, “What would you like to have?”
Naomi shrugged in response. “I’m not familiar with the restaurants here, so I’ll just leave it for you two to decide.”
Meanwhile, Ian waited for quite some time but he didn’t receive a response from Cindy, so he turned on his microphone and asked, “What would you like to have for dinner?”
Cindy wasn’t quite sure whether she was being overly sensitive but she somehow sensed that his tone of voice was completely different from before. Previously, he was quite awkward around her.
She then took some time to consider it before turning on her microphone. “Why don’t you decide? We’re not too sure which place serves good food.”
Ian didn’t respond to her but he changed the topic instead. “I’ll bring my mom along tonight. She’s been asking after you for the past two days.”
She smiled upon hearing that and jokingly asked, “Does she miss me?”
Ian, however, replied solemnly, “Yeah. I reckon that she misses you too.”
Naomi stood by the side and licked her lips, but she smiled without saying a single word.
As for Cindy, she continued playing the game as she replied, “Is that true? Why do I feel like you’re pulling my leg?”
There was a hint of amusement in Ian’s voice as he murmured, “When have I ever lied to you? She’s been asking after you these two days when she came over to cook for me. She’s been mentioning your name the whole time and her nag’s even worse than yours.”
Instantly, Cindy raised a brow. “Do you mean to say that I’m naggy?”
Ian seemed to have a lot to say and he responded, “You are quite naggy indeed. I thought that I would be able to enjoy some quiet time without you around for these two days, but my mom seems to have taken over your role. My ears are ringing from all the commotion.”
At that, Cindy gasped and muttered, “That’s nonsense! I’ll have you know that I am a quiet person.”
However, Naomi clicked her tongue quietly by the side and spoke in a low voice. “Are you clueless?! He’s the one who misses you, not his mom!”
Although Naomi had lowered her voice, the two of them were seated leaning against each other, so Ian would definitely have heard that as well.
Just then, Cindy couldn’t control it and she turned around to glare at Naomi. “What are you talking about?!”
Naomi merely laughed gleefully. “Why are you being so shy? The two of you have been behaving so affectionately in front of me all this while, so I can’t believe that you’d still feel shy.”
