The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1515

Chapter 1515 It’s My Treat

Naomi smacked Cindy on the arm lightly. “You must take note of all these that I just told you. It’s substantial information and will definitely be useful.”

Meanwhile, Cindy merely chuckled in response. “Alright, alright. I’ve committed that to my memory and I won’t forget it.”

Both of them didn’t have to wait for too long because soon after that, Ian called to say that he had arrived at the lobby.

The two women then quickly made their way downstairs.

Aurora was there too and she immediately rushed forward to grab Cindy’s hand upon seeing her. “Why did you stay at a hotel instead of going home?”

Cindy smiled and reached out to pull Naomi forward. “It’s mainly because my friend’s here, so I wanted to stay with her.” As soon as she had said that, she shifted her gaze and looked at Ian, who was standing by the side.

He had a cap and a face mask on, and he was all covered up. Despite that, Cindy could easily tell that it was him as she looked right into his eyes. Just like that, they met each other’s gaze midair.

All of a sudden, Cindy unexpectedly felt a flush across her face. They had just been apart for two days but she felt like it had been ages since she had last seen him. However, she tried to maintain her composure and she spoke in a neutral voice. “Have you decided on the restaurant?”

Ian, on the other hand, nodded in response. “Let’s go. You can continue the conversation in the car.”

They hailed a cab together and Ian mentioned an address to the driver; it was somewhere unfamiliar to Cindy so she wasn’t quite sure what it looked like.

In the car, Aurora chattered on and she started to ask what Cindy had been up to for the past two days.

At that point, Ian, who was seated by the side, couldn’t contain himself and he chuckled. “I told you that she’s been like this for the past two days. She couldn’t stop mentioning your name.”

Aurora was caught by surprise for a moment before snorting lightly. “It’s all because you’ve been so grumpy! It was quite obvious that you missed your girlfriend. You were more inclined to speak with me if I mentioned Cindy and the rest of the time, you were basically just keeping to yourself.”

Upon hearing that, Naomi exclaimed loudly by the side and she clicked her tongue teasingly.

As for Cindy, she felt her face flush pink and she glanced at Ian from the corner of her eye.

Meanwhile, Ian maintained his silence for a few seconds before suddenly asking, “How was your meeting with Gary today?”

Cindy was surprised to hear him ask about that and she exclaimed, “Oh—it was great! Mr. Frye’s a soft-spoken man and we had lunch together too. I had intended to treat him to it, but he footed the bill before I had the chance to. That was quite awkward for me.”

Suddenly, Naomi interjected, “She went on and on about how Mr. Frye’s actual personality was different from the rumors. She mentioned that he wasn’t aloof at all, but he was quite warm and it was quite comfortable to hear him speak.”

Just then, Cindy nodded. “That’s true! That’s exactly how he behaved.”

Meanwhile, Ian, who was seated at the passenger seat, glanced at Cindy by looking at the rearview mirror but he quickly shifted his gaze away soon after that.

As the traffic wasn’t too congested, they arrived at their destination quite quickly.

As soon as Cindy glanced out of the window, she instantly gasped. From the furnishings of the exterior, it was obvious that the price range of this restaurant was definitely going to be astronomical.

Her heart bled for her wallet, but she had to maintain a composed look in public.

In the end, they got out of the car and entered the club.

As Ian had already made a reservation for a private room, the waiter escorted them into the room directly. The space wasn’t too large and it was just nice for the four of them.

After everyone had taken their seats, Cindy didn’t even dare to take a look at the menu and she handed it over to Naomi immediately. “Take a look and order what you want.”

Naomi flicked through the menu and uttered a single sentence, “This is scary.”

As soon as Cindy heard that, she felt her heart thump slightly.

Meanwhile, Ian, who was seated next to Cindy, turned around to glance at her and his lips were curved upward into a smile. He had evidently noted the dismayed look in her eyes.

And so, he leaned closer to her casually and murmured, “Why are you so nervous?”

She stiffened all of a sudden because of his proximity but soon after that, she glared at him. “I told you to choose somewhere with a more affordable price range, so why did you choose such an expensive place?!”

In response, Ian lowered his voice and he spoke in a refined tone. “It’s my treat for your friend, so it wouldn’t feel right to go somewhere that’s too shabby.”
