Before Aurora left, she held Cindy’s hand and said, “I’ll miss you.”
Cindy giggled and caressed Aurora’s face as if she was coaxing a child. “I’ll miss you too.”
Next to them was Ian, who couldn’t help but roll his eyes. The relationship that these three women have is really troublesome. When did they have the time to be such good friends?
After Cindy and Naomi left, Aurora was still reluctant to see them leave as she stood next to him. “These two girls are really lively. I like them a lot.”
“Aren’t most girls the same? You’ll probably like them as well if you get along with another,” Ian uttered coldly.
“It’s definitely not the same because this one is your girlfriend.” Aurora patted his shoulder. “No matter how lively a girl is, I won’t feel anything because she has nothing to do with you or me.” After that, she raised her arm and called for a cab before she pulled him along with her.
When the cab started to drive toward their home, she sighed and added, “I’ve never been this happy for ages. We should find some time to meet Cindy’s family. Haven’t you two been together for many years? So many things have happened since then. Don’t you think it’s time to meet them?”
As Ian furrowed his brows, he looked outside the window without saying a word, so Aurora could only regard his silence as an agreement.
A moment of silence later, she suddenly said, “By the way, who is that Gary she mentioned today? I feel that she has a good impression of him since she always praises him.”
Ian didn’t know much about Gary either. When they met in the studio last time, they didn’t even speak with each other.
After thinking about it, Ian answered, “He is an investor. I heard that he is intelligent and has helped a lot of people earn money, which leads to his good reputation.”
She was immediately startled. “Does that mean Cindy is asking him to help her invest?”
He nodded. “However, he is a bit high-minded and won’t help most people, so I was quite surprised when he agreed to help her.”
Aurora quickly heeded the warning signs and asked, “How old is he? Is he married? Does he have any children?”
“Why are you so agitated about this?” Ian probed with a smile. “What does that have to do with Cindy?”
Then, she explained as a person with experience, “Of course it has something to do with her. As a warning, you need to avoid all men these days in society even if they are married and have children. However, if he is still single, you need to be even more careful.”
Upon listening to her, he couldn’t help but laugh. “You really are thinking too much.”
“I’m not; I’m just being cautious. I’ve seen a lot throughout the years, so I’m not talking nonsense to you,” Aurora advised in a serious tone. “I hope you’ll keep my words in mind.”
However, he remained silent and slowly squinted his eyes.
After they parted ways at the intersection, Ian slowly walked back to his house.
He subconsciously looked around him the moment he entered the living room.
The whole room was clean and quiet.
Ian went straight back to his room after standing at the door for a while.
He took his phone out and saw a message that Cindy had sent.
She didn’t say much as she only informed him that both she and Naomi had arrived back at the hotel.
Since she had always been thoughtful and attentive, he replied that he had also returned home.
Cindy then immediately texted the words ‘good night’.
As Ian stared at his phone for a while, he suddenly thought of Aurora’s words before they headed out earlier today.
She said that being used to something was a scary thought because most people would fall in love with someone whom they were accustomed to.
Sometimes he couldn’t figure out whether he was already used to having Cindy by his side or not, especially since there was discomfiture in his heart as he looked at his empty house.
After Ian threw his phone aside, he rested against the bedhead and stared at the ceiling.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
