Chapter 1536 Worrying About Her

Ian frowned. “You know that we are not a real couple, though. It brings no benefit to our future if we participate in shows like these.” The more exposed they were to the public, the harder it would be if they broke up in the future.

Hannah sighed. “Yes, I know and we have also considered this fact. However, based on our current plan, the company still thinks that it’s a good idea to make you even more famous. This will be beneficial for your future too. As for the future, people have various reasons when they break up. No one would force you to marry her and start a family just by participating in shows like these. When the timing is right, we will think of a suitable excuse to announce to the public about your breakup. This would work too.”

An irritated Ian walked to the window. “I’m working in the entertainment industry and I earn a living here. Hence, I’ll agree to some arrangements, but Cindy is different. Once she participates in such shows with me and reveals her face in public, people would recognize her. After breaking up with me, how would she continue with her life? How would she find a boyfriend after that?”

As she had a simple idea about this, Hannah suggested, “Well, she will also earn some money if she joins the show. When you guys break up in the future, the company will further compensate her.”

Money, money, money! All she talks about is just money. Ian felt troubled as soon as he heard her words.

Then, she immediately added, “We will also discuss this with Cindy. She will be the one making the final decision. If she really doesn’t want to join, we will not force her. I just hope that you would be more open to this and cooperate with the company to promote the show if we proceed with it.”

He wanted to laugh. I can’t reject her, can I? If Cindy agrees, I will have no other option. And I bet that if Hannah gives her an appropriate amount of money, she will agree to it. After thinking about it for a long time, he only said, “I’ll let you guys decide then.”

As he could not object to the company’s arrangement, he couldn’t force Cindy to reject this deal either. After all, he couldn’t stop other people from earning a living.

Knowing that Ian was unhappy about this, Hannah tried to console him. “Actually it’s quite common in the entertainment industry. Slowly but surely, you’ll know that everyone has already gotten used to such hidden rules.”

When Ian walked out of his room, he saw Cindy and Naomi laughing out loud together, but he had no idea what they were speaking about. He could not bring himself to join in their laugh. Instead, he merely looked at Cindy while he stood by the door.

She was someone who had decent features. Even though she was considered beautiful, she definitely couldn’t fulfill the beauty standards in the entertainment industry.

The people in the industry preferred women who looked extraordinarily beautiful. Apart from that, based on Cindy’s personality, she might not be able to have a future there.

Once they made their relationship public as an official couple, she would have a harder time once she returned to her normal life when they broke up.

Ian heaved a sigh as he thought, Okay, I might be overthinking this. Everyone has their own life to live. It’s not necessary that I worry about Cindy so much at this moment. Perhaps she will have her own talents; or, perhaps Hannah would be kinder by compensating her more. Then, she would lead a comfortable life.

He frowned. Even though he had such thoughts, he was still quite upset after pondering on the situation that he was in. With another frown, he turned around and walked back to his room.

Cindy and Naomi stayed in the living room for a while before she knocked on Ian’s door to inform that Naomi was about to leave.

After taking a few deep breaths to adjust his expression, Ian opened the door and walked outside. “It’s only been a short while, yet you’re leaving already.”

Naomi looked happy when she nodded. “It’s no longer early, so I won’t intrude on your hospitality any further. Rest well, both of you. You still have a photoshoot tomorrow.”

It was only at this moment that he noticed Aurora was nowhere to be seen.

Cindy saw his confusion and explained, “Mrs. Morgan woke up earlier and said that she wanted to head back to her own place to sleep. I initially wanted to tell you about it, but she looked like she didn’t want to stay any longer, so I didn’t delay her any further.”
