As a matter of fact, Cindy didn’t continue to pay attention to the news; she had stopped browsing the Internet after she called Ian earlier.
She leisurely walked toward the living room and sat on the couch. “I’ve called Ian. I trust him, not to mention the fact that I was aware when he left. He left together with his mother, so he can’t possibly head out to do that sort of thing. I suspect that the paparazzi saw them together and randomly made up the story, but someone probably set him up.”
Otherwise, she doubted that a few photos could have possibly caused such a huge ruckus.
The online news that she read earlier firmly stated that he was cheating on her. Yet, anyone could tell that there were other possibilities that could explain the situation—even if they were to judge solely from the photos alone.
Ian and Yulia had previously collaborated for a magazine cover shoot. Since they were acquaintances, their meeting could easily be explained as friends who happened to run into each other and had coffee or tea together.
Even if the magazine that featured him on its cover had yet to be published, their meeting could be a private discussion between the model and photographer before the details were finalized.
There could be numerous possibilities, but the news online had asserted that there was something more than friendship between Ian and Yulia. Therefore, it was obvious that it was pre-planned.
Nonetheless, Naomi, who lacked understanding toward Ian, wasn’t able to unconditionally believe and support him.
She went up to Cindy and sat opposite her. “Are you sure? Are you certain that he didn’t do anything wrong?”
Cindy nodded as she peered at Naomi. “I trust him. I believe that he didn’t do anything.”
Naomi breathed out, looking rather annoyed. “Where is he now? How is he going to resolve this issue? I’ve paid attention to the movements online when I was on the way here. I reckoned that there are trolls involved in this, which caused the attention to be focused on you.”
She believed in what Cindy said—Ian had been framed.
It was obvious that there were people controlling the flow of the comments online because many people started to compare Cindy with Yulia.
The truth was that if one were to solely look at their background, Cindy would be no match to Yulia even if Cindy were to be ten times better than she now was.
Nevertheless, Naomi found this kind of comparison rather pointless since there were plenty of people who came from better backgrounds than Yulia. Comparing their backgrounds proves nothing, she thought.
Moreover, Cindy was Ian’s official girlfriend while Yulia was just a nobody, so she was not in the position to compare herself to Cindy.
What was even more disgusting was that many netizens supported Yulia and claimed that they felt sorry for Ian for being together with Cindy. He was supposed to look for a partner like Yulia as her identity could assist him in his career.
Naomi had no idea whether Cindy had seen the comments online or her thoughts after seeing them. What Naomi was unaware of was that Cindy had already seen how ruthless the comments were and she was close to bursting into tears. These people are really unethical.
Upon seeing how furious Naomi was, Cindy laughed. “Alright. Are you hungry? I’ll make something for you to eat.”
“How could you still be in the mood to cook? Why do you seem like you are not flustered by this? I’m so flustered that I want to smack someone.” Naomi was so mad that she nearly jumped to her feet.
However, the more anxious she was, the calmer Cindy seemed.
“You’ll only be wasting your energy being all flustered since the entire situation is still unclear. Besides, I’ve called Ian and he said that the news on the Internet is fake. If I were to choose between him and the media that is full of nonsense, I would choose to believe him, of course,” an optimistic Cindy consoled.
Upon seeing how calm Cindy was, Naomi was rendered speechless as she lay against the couch. “I’m really confused. Should I be envious of your mentality or praise your optimism?”
If this were to happen to any other girls, they would certainly feel restless. Compared to Cindy’s calmness at the moment, Naomi’s reaction made it seem that she was Ian’s girlfriend instead.
Cindy chuckled as she rose to her full height. “Wait for me. I’ll cook something for you. I think they won’t be coming back tonight, so it’ll just be the two of us for dinner.”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
