The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1591

Chapter 1591 Unbiased Opinion

A few minutes later, Ian received a reply from Aurora telling him that she hadn’t met Cindy and she couldn’t contact her because her phone was turned off when she tried to call her. She even mentioned in the text that she was worried that something might happen to her.

Instantly, Ian felt his heart falling into the pits. I was too careless. I shouldn’t have let her out last night.

Although he didn’t know Gary’s number, he didn’t really want to call and ask whether Cindy was with him. Clutching his cell phone, he sprang up and paced around the room. In the end, he decided to call Aurora.

Very quickly, Aurora picked up his call, and she placed a finger to her lips, signaling for Cindy to remain silent. Then, she placed the call on loudspeaker mode.

“You said you didn’t see her?” he asked impatiently. “Didn’t you go out to meet her?”

Aurora sighed. “We set up a meeting, but she didn’t show up in the end and sent me a text saying that she doesn’t really want to meet me. After that, she turned off her phone and I couldn’t contact her anymore.”

Licking his lips nervously, Ian was at a loss for what to do. Now, he wished that Cindy was actually at Gary’s place, which was better than her being alone outside.

“What happened between both of you last night? Cindy has always been respectful to me, but you must have gone overboard last night for her to act like this now.”

Was I too much last night? Ian asked himself. Actually, yes. If this happened to any other girl, they would take it to heart as well.

On the other end of the line, Aurora waited for him to answer her, but he merely kept his silence. The way he’s acting is very similar to how Cindy was minutes ago. Both of them are so stubborn!

As she didn’t feel that it was appropriate to speak too much with Ian in Cindy’s presence, she just told him that she didn’t have any news of her and that he should think of a solution himself before she hung up.

Placing her phone aside, she chuckled playfully. “Let’s ignore him. This is the price he has to pay for making you mad.”

However, Cindy was unable to laugh. She never intended to make Ian worry about her because they were not a real couple, so there was no need to resort to this.

It could be true that he was really worried that she might have encountered a dangerous situation considering the fact that she was a girl and alone in this town, which had nothing to do with whether he liked her or not.

Throughout the meal, all Aurora spoke about was Ian, and she kept emphasizing that he only acted the way he did out of jealousy. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have done anything that would make her angry because he was a person who disliked trouble and couldn’t be bothered to start a fight.

Despite all Aurora said, Cindy wasn’t convinced because her subconscious mind didn’t believe that Ian would actually be jealous that she went out with another guy.

Previously when their news was trending at its peak, there were netizens who analyzed her relationship with Ian, and many said that she was not good enough for him in many ways.

Although she wasn’t bothered by those comments, she had to admit that they were right.

There was nothing about her that could attract Ian. Appearance-wise, there were a truckload of girls who were more attractive than her in the entertainment industry, just like Sena, for example. When it came to talents and family background, she was no match for Yulia at all. In her case where she had nothing comparable to others, Ian really had no reason to fall for her.

Nobody’s a fool, she thought. There must be a reason for liking someone, and there’s nothing about me that is attractive to Ian.

At the thought of this, her heart wrenched a little. This was the reason why she felt ashamed when she first discovered that she had caught feelings for Ian—she just felt that she was not good enough for him.

Nevertheless, Aurora had no idea what was going on in Cindy’s mind, and after she talked about Ian, she mentioned the news on the Internet.

“Maybe Ian is already frustrated from those news which are rife on the Internet, and on top of that, he was jealous, so he couldn’t control his emotions,” Aurora said, deliberating in a fair and unbiased manner.
