The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1650

Chapter 1650 More Shopping

She was lagging behind in the fashion department, and the realization upset her. When she looked at the dress again, she changed into it without hesitation.

Aurora had a good eye for dresses. Cindy didn’t think it was too pretty when she held it, but it felt completely different when she wore it. She stood in front of the mirror dumbly, as if she couldn’t believe the person in the mirror was her.

Aurora patted her shoulder. “You look pretty.”

The sales assistant agreed, of course. Aurora told Cindy to try on the other one, and it turned out fine as well. “We’ll take both. Pack them up,” Aurora told the sales assistant without even discussing it with Cindy.

Cindy didn’t refuse, however. She was about to pay for it herself, but Aurora was one step ahead of her. “Take this as a bribe.” She smiled. “Just treat my son better, alright?”

The sales assistant looked at them in surprise. “Oh, I thought she was your daughter. You two get along so well, and she looks a bit like you. Anyone would have mistaken you as her mother.”

She might be lying, but Aurora was happy to hear that. “Maybe it’s fate that we met.”“Yeah, that’s probably it,” the sales assistant said.

They came out holding two bags of clothes, then they went into a shoe shop. Aurora picked two pairs of shoes for Cindy again, of course. Cindy was used to her sneakers, but she was fine with heels too. She wasn’t used to it, but she was fine. Aurora picked the heels that went with the dresses they bought, and Cindy didn’t refuse either. They already bought the dresses, so two pairs of heels was nothing.

She got a lot of loot on this excursion. When they came back home at noon, Ian was still sleeping.

Cindy knew he must be sleeping soundly. He did sleep on the floor the whole night, which would make sleeping on the bed doubly comfortable.

They didn’t wake him up. After they put their stuff down, they went to make lunch. Since Ian didn’t eat much that morning, Cindy made his favorite food for lunch.

Aurora knocked on his door when lunch was done, but Ian was still sound asleep. Even after he heard the knock, he just rolled over and mumbled, “I’m still asleep.”

Aurora heard that, but still she said, “You can sleep after you have lunch.”

At the same time, Cindy’s phone rang. She put her bowl down and took her phone to see who it was. The guy who played badminton with her the night before was calling her.

Aurora turned around to look at Cindy from where she stood. “What is it? Is it from your family? Are they worried about you?”

Cindy shook her head and took the call.

Aurora went back to knocking on the door. “Get up. We made your favorite food for lunch.”

Ian shifted in bed restlessly. He was too tired to eat. He barely ate anything for breakfast, but he still had no appetite.

Even though he was being quiet, Aurora started talking again, but this time, it wasn’t to him; it was to Cindy. “Ian said we’re having dinner with someone tonight. Hold on, let me ask him.”

Aurora turned around again. “Are we having dinner with your friends tonight?”

Ian’s brows furrowed, and he slowly pushed himself up from the bed. “Yeah, at Sophia’s place. Logan and the rest will be there too.”

Aurora told Cindy, “Yes, we have an appointment tonight. Why don’t you two meet up sometime else?”

That jolted Ian awake. “What is it? Is she meeting up with someone?” he asked while scrambling out of bed.
