The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1654

Chapter 1654 Observation

I don’t blame Cindy. She hasn’t seen a lot of what life has to offer, but mom too? She has seen a lot in life. She should have realized this is cheap stuff. He pursed his lips and shoved the racket back into the box unceremoniously before tossing it back onto the shoe rack. Can’t believe they got so excited over a racket. He felt like laughing.

Ian turned around and glanced at the living room. Since the ladies were asleep, he was bored being alone. They went shopping earlier, so it was his turn to take a stroll now. He wore his jacket, put on his shoes, and went downstairs.

He hesitated for a moment when he came to the entrance, but he stayed his course and went to the gym park. There weren’t a lot of people, and the old folks weren’t around either. Ian went to sit on the same bench Aurora and Cindy occupied last night and stared at the clearing before him. They played badminton here last night. It was as if he could still see Cindy acting sweet with the guy.

He squinted at the clearing. I wonder how he managed to notice Cindy in such a big crowd last night. He had a lot of girls around him and they looked livelier and more cheerful than Cindy, so why did he get a stranger to play with him? That guy must be a f*ckboy.

And that was why you should never think about things you never want the answer to. Case in point, Ian managed to annoy himself even without anything happening around him.

Then, he remembered that the guy came to give Cindy a racket. Most people won’t give presents to anyone they just met. And he said he wanted her to join his club? He’s up to something.

Cindy’s stupid, Ian thought silently. You just had to take it. Can’t you say no? I pay you enough, right? Sure, there’s not much to do right now, but I still pay you.

He still paid her even when they were fighting. You could have bought it yourself. And why did you say you would treat him to a meal the next time? Are you being flirty?

Ian quickly stood up a moment later. If he kept thinking about it, he might run amok sooner or later.

He was about to leave, but when he turned around, he saw a group of people coming over. He didn’t know most of them, but the guy who was chatting with someone looked familiar. Hey, that’s the guy who played badminton with her last night.

Ian looked at the time. The old folks hadn’t come yet, so he thought they were there to call dibs on this spot. Since the guy was here, Ian didn’t plan on leaving anymore. Instead, he went back to the bench.

The guy didn’t notice him at all. He made small talk with his club members, then they warmed up to prepare for the game.

Ian leaned against the bench, staring at the guy. He had to say that a sporty guy like him was popular with the girls.

This time, another guy came to train with the guy. They were being serious, making the game intense.

I see. The guy was just showing her the ropes yesterday. He’s a rather good player.

Two rounds later, a girl came to him holding two bottles of water, one of which she handed to the guy.

The guy stared at the girl for a moment and took the bottle without saying anything. However, he tossed it to his friend.

The girl was surprised, but she handed the remaining bottle of water to the guy as well. The guy said something, but Ian couldn’t hear him. However, he saw Xaiver waving the girl off.
