The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1657

Chapter 1657 Baby Talk

Ian nodded with a smile. “She is.”

Matilda only saw the news online, so she didn’t know about how they acted in private. Once Ian gave his confirmation, she nodded. “You two look like a match made in heaven.”

Cindy felt nervous after getting that praise. After all, they were a fake couple. Even though everyone said they were a great match, it still wouldn’t change the fact that they weren’t together.

Sophia was almost done with cooking. She washed her hands, took her apron off, and came out. “Everyone’s here.”

Cindy looked at Sophia. She was in casual attire, and her hair was tied up into a ponytail. She looked like a gentle housewife that way.

John went over to her, holding their son. “Here, hold him. He just peed on me, and I need to change.”

Sophia chuckled and took the child. “You took off his diapers again?”

John walked toward the stairs. “Hey, he’ll feel suffocated wearing diapers all day. The butt needs to breathe.”

Sophia kissed the baby. “Yeah, yeah. I know you love him the most. Happy?”

John was going upstairs but he turned back to look at Sophia quietly, a gentle smile appearing on his face.

Cindy knew Ian and Sophia used to have a thing, so she had been keeping an eye on Sophia. Naturally, she saw how John was looking at Sophia whenever they were talking to each other. There was deep love in his eyes, and Cindy could guess why Sophia ended up marrying John.

Logan waved his hand at Sophia. “Hey, let us see your boy.” He then said to Ian, “It’s been a while since you saw him, right? He’s totally different now.”

Sophia came over, smiling. “Children grow really fast. They look completely different even though you haven’t seen them for just a week.” She sat beside Matilda and showed her child to everyone.

Ian glanced at the baby and nodded. “He’s different alright. He was a little potato when I saw him last time.”

Sophia smiled. “Yeah. He was a little potato back then. Sweet, but still a potato.”

Matilda quickly came to the child’s defense. “That’s how all babies look. Nobody is born pretty.”

Sophia snorted cheekily. “But my grandpa said I was born pretty.”

Cindy looked at Sophia. So this is how a woman acts when she’s in love. She still looks young even when she’s already a mother.

Ian was also looking at Sophia because of what she said. It took him back to the first time he saw her. Even after so long, she still hadn’t changed much, but now he could only be friends with her.

Aurora couldn’t look away from Sophia’s son. “Can I hold him for a bit? Oh, he’s so soft and adorable.”

Sophia handed the child to Aurora. The boy wasn’t afraid of strangers either, and he stared at Aurora quietly.

Aurora started nagging again. “I wonder when I’ll get my own grandkid.”

Logan said, “Hey, that was for you, Ian. You know what to do now, right?”

Ian smiled. “I know it’s for me. I’m used to it though.”

Aurora patted the baby and grumbled, “Yeah. He got too used to it. Only Cindy can handle someone like him. I would have fought with him if it were me.”

Ian half-joked, “And how do you know we aren’t fighting? She hasn’t been smiling to me for the last two days.”

Cindy never expected the conversation to swerve her way. It caught her by surprise, but she said, “It’s your fault. You won’t listen to me no matter what I say. You act like the nice guy in front of everyone, but it’s a different story in private.”
