The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1755

Chapter 1755 Leah Comes

Sean envied Ian for having the freedom to threaten Leah. He could turn his back on the Morgans whenever he pleased, but not Sean. He had too much to consider, so he could never do whatever he wanted. Sometimes I really think life sucks.

Sean then said that Bryce actually consulted a lawyer earlier. When Leah went to argue with him, Bryce—in a fit of anger—admitted that he had changed the will’s content. He didn’t name the specifics, but Sean could guess that he must have reduced the amount of inheritance Leah and her children would get.

After Bryce said that, Leah came to a sudden silence. The only reason she went and argued with Bryce was so she could get more out of him, but the plan had backfired severely on her.

Sean said calmly, “I know people like Leah and her children very well. Now that they have gotten to this point and lost most of their potential money, they might go crazy and sabotage everyone and everything in their way.”

Ian didn’t really care, since he would be leaving after he settled matters here. He didn’t mind if Leah wanted to go after him even after he had left. After all, she could do nothing if she wasn’t in her turf.

After a while, Sean told all the things he had kept in his mind to Ian. In the end, he lamented, “I never thought I would talk to you about all of this.”

Ian never thought this day would come either. He never thought he and Sean would actually have a heart-to-heart. Back in the days while they were still in the Morgan household, Sean never tripped Ian up, but he never showed any signs of forging friendship either. Sean lived in his own world, as if no one could disrupt his life.

They hung up a while later, since Sean had something else to do. Ian stood there to process the conversation, then he went back to the bedroom.

Cindy was sleeping again, but it was a shallow sleep, since she heard it when Ian came in. She turned around and faced the door as he walked into the room.

He locked the door and went to bed, then he pulled her into his embrace.

Cindy took it the wrong way, so she pushed against his chest. “I don’t want it.”

Ian smiled, and he kissed her forehead. “Sleep. I’m not trying to do it either. At least let me rest.”

Cindy buried her head in Ian’s chest. “You’re a pervert, you know that?”

Ian grunted, and he replied, “Only to you.”

She answered groggily, “You’d better not forget that.” And then she went back to sleep.

Ian wasn’t tired at first. He kept hugging her, and since he had nothing to do, he closed his eyes and drifted to sleep too in the end.

It was already evening when Ian was woken up by a knock on the front door. It was loud and noisy, so he quickly got out of bed and walked toward the door. Halfway through, he realized that he had no friends who would come to his place. Oh, right. Sean warned me about this earlier. He strode to the front door and looked through the peeping hole.

A trio was standing outside, who were none other than Leah and her children. Whoa, they came alone? Without anyone helping them? Leah was still knocking on the door, but she said nothing, and Ian noticed that she had a tense look on her face.

It was obvious that the change in the will’s content infuriated her. Ian wouldn’t open the door, of course. He wasn’t afraid, but there were women in the house, and he didn’t want to drag either of them into this. Besides, Leah was currently on the brink of insanity, and god knew what she would do.
