The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1756

Chapter 1756 Persistent Leah

He didn’t want Cindy and Aurora to get hurt, so he whipped his phone out and gave Logan a call.

Logan picked it up quickly enough. He sounded happy, thinking that Ian was calling him to talk about the scandals about Leah that were surfacing online. “I hired some trolls to sway the court of public opinion. Did you see it? God, it’s hilarious.”

Contrary to Logan’s jovial attitude, Ian said solemnly, “Logan, I need your help.”

“Sure.” Logan thought Ian had some more scandals for him to post, so he said, “Name it, buddy. I’ll settle it for you. I ain’t scared of anything.”

Ian heaved a sigh. “Leah and her kids are right outside my place. I can’t settle this myself because of reasons. Can you get someone to take them away?”

Logan paused for a moment, then he cursed, “The f*ck? Those *ssholes went to your place? They really think you’re a pushover? Tell them to come to me! I posted their sh*t. Ooh, I’m going to whoop their sorry *sses.”

Ian said nothing, then Logan continued, “Very well then. You stay inside. I’ll be right there. Tell them to stay where they are if they have the guts.”

Leah was still knocking on the door. It was a loud knock, but she never said a word all this time, nor did she demand Ian to open the door. She just kept knocking insistently, and she finally woke the ladies.

Aurora came out first. Her fever had probably subsided, and she looked more refreshed now. She came out of her room, rubbing her eyes. “Who is it?” she mumbled. “It’s so loud.” When she saw Ian standing at the doorway, she paused. “Oh, you’re here? Why aren’t you opening the door? Who is it outside?”

Ian was leaning against the shoe rack and scrolling through his phone. “Ignore her. She’s a madwoman,” he answered without even looking at her.

Piqued by curiosity, Aurora came to the door, but instead of opening it, she looked through the peephole, and she frowned. She had seen Leah’s photos on the news before, but the real article looked slightly different from the photos, so Aurora wasn’t sure if it was her. She calmed herself down and looked at Ian. “Who is she? She looks familiar.”

Ian answered honestly, “Leah.”

Aurora was surprised that it was actually Leah. Back at the hospital, she was still out of it, so she didn’t see Leah coming out of the car, but she remembered that the reason they left was because Leah would arrive soon. Sean even asked them to leave because Leah would cause a mess. After piecing all the pieces together, Aurora had a visibly upset look on her face. “Why is she here? I thought she already lashed out at the hospital. Is she trying to pick a fight here?”

Ian smirked. “She’s probably frustrated that she couldn’t get more money out of the old man.”

Aurora was confused by that explanation. “Why does she think she can get more money out of Bryce if she comes to us after she failed to get it from, you know, the owner of the inheritance himself?”

At the same time, Cindy came out as well. She was looking well after getting some sleep, and she came up to them while tying up her hair. “Who is out there? They’re being loud. And why aren’t you guys opening the door?”

Aurora leaned against the shoe rack, just like what her son was doing. “Bryce’s wife. Here to pick a fight.”

Cindy was surprised, but she could see why. She could understand why Leah was here to pick a fight. After all, she had lost all semblance of sanity, so Cindy wouldn’t put anything past Leah.
