Without waiting for Cindy to reply, Ian continued, “I didn’t expect Yulia to come today, either. She also said that she knew about the flight from Hannah, so believe me when I say I’m innocent.”
Cindy removed herself from Ian’s embrace and looked up at him. “I haven’t even said anything, so why are you explaining so much?”
Ian reached out and touched her face. “It’s true that you haven’t said anything, but your expression told me everything I need to know.”
Cindy gave up on hiding. “Yes, I am upset. You also saw how hard she tried to flatter you; it’s not normal, is it?”
Ian nodded as he agreed readily to Cindy’s words. “You’re right. It’s not normal at all. I know that too, so I’m thinking twice about meeting her again to discuss resource matters.”
Ian had his own considerations too. If Yulia shared her resources with him, he would be in her debt, whereupon he wouldn’t be able to stand up against her in future situations. They weren’t exchanging resources, after all. With Yulia’s identity and position, she wouldn’t need any help from him. So, they weren’t standing on equal ground.
If he wanted to avoid whatever confusing and complex conflict later, it would do him good to not owe Yulia anything in the first place. Still, he had to discuss with Aurora about the matter first.
After all, the resources were meant for Aurora, so Ian wanted to ask for her opinions. When Cindy heard Ian’s words, her anger resided a little. “All right, let’s get to rest now. It’s been a tiring journey.” She nodded and returned to her room and tidied her bed.
Ian was still affected by the alcohol from last night. Come to think of it, I drank too much last night. Gosh! I really don’t feel like moving at all. Even though he had been sitting throughout the whole flight, he was still tired out.
He tugged Cindy’s hand. “You should put down your work and rest too.”
Cindy told him she wasn’t tired and wanted to clean up what was outside.
There actually isn’t much cleaning to do. I remember the house was already cleaned up before we left, wasn’t it? Ian thought to himself.
Hearing Cindy’s words, Ian forcefully pulled her into his arms. Without warning, she lost her balance and fell with Ian onto the bed, landing on top of him. Holding her waist in place, the man seemed to be thinking of something as his hands did the exploring. “Since you’re not tired, let’s do something else.”
Frightened by Ian’s sudden movements, Cindy pushed against his chest to get up. “Hey, stop it! It’s still daytime.”
Ian didn’t care if it was day or night, because there were only the two of them at home. Aurora went home to clean up, so she wouldn’t be showing up at this hour. So, he had all the time in the world.
Thump! With a quick flip, the tables were turned, and she ended below him. “Then I’ll draw the curtains and shut the doors. It’ll be so dark you don’t know it’s daytime.”
Cindy chuckled at Ian’s words. She was pushing against him before, but now she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Aren’t you tired?”
He leaned in and pecked the corner of her lips, his voice muffled. “I don’t mind getting a bit more tired.”
“Draw the curtains, then.” She kissed Ian back.
Cindy’s words signified that she was more than willing to cooperate, so Ian gave her a huge kiss before getting out of bed to pull the curtains shut.
Cindy wasn’t tired originally, since she was sleeping all the way through the flight.
As for bed-related matters, there was something she couldn’t understand. She wasn’t the active one, but she would still feel tired beyond explanation after the ordeal. Contrary to Cindy’s condition, Ian was originally tired, but after all the activity, he actually perked up.
Cindy was drowsy after the arduous experience, and she fell asleep right away afterward.
Ian lay beside her, wide awake, itching for a cigarette. Dang, I can really use a puff right now! However, when he fetched his pack and turned around to look at Cindy sleeping soundly, he put down the cigarettes.
Never mind, Ian thought as he slid back into bed, then pulled Cindy into his embrace.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
